With everything that has been going on, Orin shows an amount of concern for Lodi and believes that he is being led down a path that he will soon regret.
Orin has a plan, though, and in order to help Lodi out, she will need your assistance, starting with the collection of Vex radiolaria specimens.
These are to be used for a temporal beacon, and once you help show Lodi what is to come, he may soon make his decision whether to give in to The Nine or accept his fate.
How To Get Transfer of Power Quest?
You will be able to start the “Transfer of Power” quest once you have completed “The Gorge Strangelet” quest, which is a part of The Edge of Fate campaign.
During “The Gorge Strangelet”, you will need to complete a mission called “Quarantine” and once this is done, Transfer of Power will be available. (Start by speaking to Orin)
Transfer of Power Quest Steps (Objectives)
Step 1: Defeat Vex in the area to collect Radiolaria specimens for the temporal beacon
There will be certain Vex that you need to defeat nearby, and they will drop an item called “Time-Locked Radiolaria” when defeated.
You will need to obtain all 3 of the Time-Locked Radiolaria, and each of the locations where the enemies can be found will be marked on your map. (You can track these)
Step 2: Plant the completed beacon to act as a temporal antenna
Make your way to the location marked on your map, and once you arrive, there will be a marked area that you need to interact with to place the temporal beacon.
Step 3: Pinpoint the signal and connect to Orin’s call
Orin is pinging you on a private channel, and you will need to follow the waypoint to the marked location to receive her call. (Answer Orin once you are called)
Step 4: Clear the Conductor’s Vex in the Nessian Schism
After your efforts to attempt to tap into Unknown Space, the Vex have been drawn to the Nessian Schism, and you will need to remove them. (Defeat all the Vex in the area)
This takes place in the Outer Steppes, and it would be a good idea to fast-travel to the Outer Steppes landing zone to quickly get there to defeat them.
Step 5: Return to Orin to speak with her
Orin will not be too far from where you previously defeated the Conductor’s Vex, and you will need to head over to speak with her. (Quest is completed after speaking to Orin)
Transfer of Power Quest Rewards
Once you have spoken to Orin after clearing out the Conductor’s Vex, the quest will come to an end, and you will be rewarded with the following:
- Legendary Gear
- Fated Cipher
Verdict
Orin has done everything that she can to show Lodi what is in store for him if he is to become the emissary for The Nine.
Although Orin has escaped and Lodi is confused about what choice to make, Orin still provides him with what would seem as a guide on how to escape, but there is still an uncertainty about whether it is possible.
Regardless of what has been shown, Lodi mentions that he has nothing else left to lose as everything has been taken from him, and he may not even have a way out of this.
