With the arrival of The Edge of Fate update, a new feature was added to the game called “Portal,” and this tab serves as a way for you to choose your activities.
From the Portal, you can access the latest expansion on Kepler, do activities either solo or with other Guardians, and check out your Seasonal Hub and more.
This provides you with a quick way to get around the different things that you will be doing during the season and can help you easily track certain rewards.
How it Works?
Destiny 2’ Portal acts as a tab from your main menu when you have logged into a character and may be accessed along with Store, Rewards Pass, Quests, and World.
This has replaced the Destinations Menu, but you can still choose other locations later if you wish to explore the previous destinations from the game.
Portal mainly allows you to focus on the new and main activities in each season, such as The Expansion, Ritual Activities and more.
How To Use Portal?
To use the new Portal feature, all you need to do is select Portal once you have logged in and from here you can decide what you will do.
You can do ritual activities to get rewards or focus on Kepler by selecting The Edge of Fate, which shows Kepler, The Oort Cloud.
Several options are available once you have gone to the Portal screen and focusing on these activities will allow you to obtain a lot of rewards from the current season.
Latest Expansion (The Edge of Fate)
The Edge of Fate is the current expansion right now, and selecting this allows you to view Kepler, The Oort Cloud, and its map.
This allows you to focus on the many missions and quests that you will be doing if you have purchased The Edge of Fate.
Since Kepler cannot be accessed similarly to the other locations, this selection is your main way to focus on the expansion.
Ritual Activities
When viewing the Portal, you will be able to choose from multiple activities, which include Solo, Fireteam, Pinnacle, and Crucible.

Seasonal Hub
The Seasonal Hub is a feature that allows you to check on daily and weekly challenges as well as to claim rewards for completing them.
In addition to the rewards from challenges that you complete, your Weekly Rank will also increase when challenges are completed, allowing you to collect more rewards.
As your Weekly Rank increases, you may claim rewards from this section in a similar way that rewards are earned through the Reward Pass.
Portal Rewards
Completing Portal Activities will increase your weekly rank and this will allow you to claim rewards for each rank that you reach.
The higher your weekly rank, the better the rewards you may gain and these will even allow you to get Materials, Engrams, Exotic Ciphers, Bright Dust and more.
To view the rewards that can be claimed, check out the rewards listed in the Seasonal Hub as it shows what each rank will provide.
Bonus Drops
Some activities will have Bonus Drops, which can be seen when you view the activity before starting it. (The reward can be seen on from the menu when looking at activities)
Completing the activity that has a Bonus Reward will allow you to obtain the reward if you perform well during the activity.
Once you have improved all of your character’s gear, you can easily complete missions and this will provide you with a faster way to obtain these rewards.
Verdict
The addition of the Portal in Destiny 2 is a great way for Guardians to keep track of activities they can do and earn rewards to boost their characters.
It is a good idea to progress as much as you can during each season to gain several rewards that can be useful as you reach or enjoy the end game phase.
There are rotations when it comes to some missions, and challenges may differ from time to time, making it good to check on which ones you can complete before doing activities.
