Destiny 2 The Message Mission Walkthrough (The Edge of Fate)

Archon Levaszk is under the heart of the singularity, and now is the time for you to confront him and put a stop to his plans.

This is the only way for you to ensure that Kepler is kept safe, which will result in the Aionians being grateful for your efforts.

Aside from helping the Aionians, this will be the only way for you to truly discover the secret behind the invitation that was sent and unveil the mystery that you have been chasing.

How To Get The Message Mission?

The Message is the last mission that you partake in when you are progressing with The Edge of Fate quest, where you finally confront Archon Levaszk.

This mission becomes available once you have reached Quest Step 28 after previously integrating the last Strangelet Capsule into the Altar of Relativity.

The Message Mission Walkthrough

This mission will put all of your skills and logic with Dark Matter to the test, and as it begins, you will be making your way to the Singularity.

Keep going forward until you reach the area where the Choral Vex are located and fight your way, entering the path on the right. (Use Matterspark to get through a small tunnel at the end.)

This will take you into a room that can be slightly tricky if you don’t do things in the right order, which often leads to you falling to your death.

Don’t exit Matterspark just yet as you reach the room with a Relocator, and instead, head down the small entrance to the left of it.

There will be a small tunnel where you can fit through while Matterspark is active, and you will need to go through it to reach the area on the other side.

Jump up to the platform above you and head to the side, which will reveal that there is a Vex Cube tucked away at the side. (Destroy the Vex Cube)

This will cause a beam to shoot into one of the rooms, which creates a surface under the room where the Relocator will take you.

Activate Matterspark again and head back through the tunnel that you came through and use the Relocator to get to the other side. (Shoot through the lasers to activate the teleporter.)

After going through the teleporter, activate Mattermorph and use it to open a path to the left when you are facing the lasers.

As you make your way out of the wall that you moved with Mattermorph, turn right and continue making your way forward, and clear the area filled with Choral Vex.

Defeating all of the combatants will take down a barrier nearby, which leads to an area with Uplifted Choral Hydra combatants. (You will need to defeat them to remove a barrier.)

Once the barrier is out, a Mattermorph device will be accessible, and you will need to use this to alter the area around you to reveal and destroy a Vex Cube.

The next area will have a relay that you need to shoot before using a Relocator to get to the other side past a long set of lasers, but make sure you have Mattermorph active before you do this.

Once you reach the other side, use Mattermorph to move the large blocks to reveal a Vex Cube above you, which you will need to destroy before heading back.

Make your way back to where you defeated the 2 Choral Vex (Hydras), and there will be a path that is now accessible above you as you reenter the room.

Continue making your way up by jumping up to the platforms where there are glowing parts, and head into the next area.

Before you make your way into the large area, make sure that you place down a Rally Banner, as the next area will be where a boss fight happens.

Proceed making your way forward, but be careful; dying here will cause you to respawn and start the fight all over again.

Start by clearing out the Vex combatants in the area while avoiding the Crazed Mind, Touched By The Singularity boss, as you won’t be able to damage it yet.

You will need to defeat the Uplifted Choral Hydra in the area to remove the barrier blocking the Relocator, which you will need to use to activate a nearby portal.

This will take you into the round room above you, where an Arc Cranium can be picked up before you jump down.

Use Mattermorph to move the objects on each side, which will reveal Vex Cubes that need to be destroyed to make the Crazed Mind vulnerable. (You may attack it after doing this.)

Once the Crazed Mind is at half of its health, repeat the steps needed to make it vulnerable, but this time, use Mattermorph on the opposite side. (Repeat and defeat the boss.)

Follow the path that is now unlocked and make your way to the next area past the Exile Servitor and fight your way into the room ahead.

This area will require that you fight your way through the combatants to reach a Matterspark device, which you will use to activate the ability and go through an adjacent tunnel.

This tunnel is opposite the barrier near the Matterspark device (not the one near the entrance), and once you go through it, you will find a battery that needs to be destroyed.

Use Matterspark again to get out and head to where the barrier was, which will lead you to a terminal that unlocks a room near the entrance where Mattermorph can be activated.

You will need to use Mattermorph on the glowing areas near the Matterspark device and activate Matterspark to go through the tunnel near the entrance.

This will allow you to cross an improvised bridge leading to the next area, where you will need to clear the House of Exiles combatants. (Clear all of them out.)

To the right, there will be a ramp leading to a room with a barrier, and you will need to activate Matterspark to overcharge the pylon near it.

Follow the path that is now open, and this will lead you to a large area where a Relocator can be found, and you will need to make your way behind a set of lasers at the end.

Start from the left side, from where the Relocator is, and you can shoot past a set of lasers, but make sure you enter the teleporter when a mobile platform is under the pad.

From the mobile platform, jump up to where a Matterspark device can be used and head to the opposite side where a tunnel can be found that leads you to a battery.

Destroy the battery, and a barrier will disperse, allowing you to use Mattermorph from a nearby device, and the lasers that were previously blocking you will also deactivate.

Head back to where you picked up the Relocator and use Mattermorph to move the pipes before firing it at the relays across you. (This will open a portal to  the inside of the barrier at the end.)

Activate the terminal inside to remove the barrier and jump to the other side where another Relocator can be picked up. (Mobile platforms will now be moving around.)

Jump on the mobile platform with a teleporter and shoot the teleporter pad to activate the portal. (Don’t jump in just yet. Make sure you time your jump.

The portal causes you to drop, so make sure the mobile platform is on its way inside before you go inside the portal, where you jump onto a platform nearby. (Use a Relocator when you get there.)

Head through the portal and interact with the nearby terminal, and jump across to the entrance ahead, which will lead you to another Rally Banner spot.

The next area will be where you have to face an enemy called “Fury of the Archon,” and this requires more steps using Dark Matter to defeat them.

Activate Matterspark to enter through the small tunnels to destroy the batteries, and attack the pylon inside to remove the barrier.

From here, you will need to use Matterspark to create a blast jump after you launch yourself after going through the glowing rings. (You must hit the Fury of the Archon.)

Once you have done this, you can freely attack it until its life is halved, making it immune to damage until you repeat the process.

Head into the Singularity, which will appear to be a fractured area in a space-like environment, leaving you one path to follow, and this will take you to the Archon.

Make your way to the end, and once you arrive, you can place down a Rally Banner before clearing out the combatants in the area.

After clearing the enemies, use Matterspark to charge a nearby pylon and enter the portal to teleport into the ketch above you.

While aboard the Ketch, use the device below you to activate Matterspark and make your way around to infiltrate the ship.

You will need to find the shielding generators aboard the ketch in the next area, and these must be destroyed by following certain steps.

To do this, activate Matterspark, make your way to the pylons in the area to charge them before heading to the batteries at the end of the room.

Destroy the batteries on each side before you destroy the main device in the center at the end of the room, and this will drain power from the Ketch.

Now that the Archon has nowhere to go, he will be forced out of his pod once you return to him by heading out the same way you came in.

Make your way to the exit, and once you are out of the ketch, you will need to approach the pod where the Archon is waiting.

You can immediately attack while Archon Levaszk is getting out of the pod, and after taking out a portion of his health, he will become immune as 2 Prophet’s Servitors protect him.

This requires that you use Matterspark and head through the rings in the area to reach the servitors and unleash a blast to make them vulnerable. (Destroy both of the servitors.)

Once both servitors have been destroyed, Levaszk will be vulnerable, and you can damage him again until he becomes immune to damage. (Repeat the steps to defeat him.)

After defeating Archon Levaszk, another chest will appear, containing loot, and the mission will shortly come to an end. (A cutscene begins after completing this mission for the first time.)

The Message Mission Rewards

Defeating the Crazed Mind will cause a chest to appear, which contains tons of different materials from Kepler along with Glimmer, Enhancement Cores, and Legendary Gear.

Your fight with the Fury of the Archon will also reward you with a loot chest, which contains the same types of rewards as when you defeated the Crazed Mind.

Similar to the previous bosses, Archon Levaszk’s defeat causes a loot chest to appear, which contains similar loot to the previous chests.

The completion of “The Message” will allow you to continue progressing and eventually complete The Edge of Fate quest.

Verdict

After countless efforts to prevent both the Choral Vex and House of Exile from fulfilling their plans, things finally came to an end. (Sort of)

With Archon Levaszk defeated, the real plot that III of The Nine had created has come into play, and a certain timeline can now be changed.

With you and your fireteam now aware of what events were supposed to transpire, this time around, you may be able to make a difference and prevent tragedy for The Nine.
