How To Get Charged Motes in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 added a lot of challenges, puzzles, and secrets with the introduction of The Edge of Fate, but sometimes, objectives can be a bit tricky too.

One of them is an objective in the “Nostos” mission, which requires you to obtain Charged Motes to be deposited into a device to disable a barrier.

The thing is, many players have not noticed how Charged Motes can drop, but doing this is easier than it may seem.

What Are Charged Motes?

First seen in the “Nostos” mission, Charge Motes have a similar appearance to the Motes that you may have seen in Gambit matches.

These Charged Motes have a different use in the mission, which is to overload the device, generating a barrier that blocks your path.

The only way for you to get these is to defeat enemies, and if you still are not sure how to get them, here is a hint: “Matterspark.”

How To Get Charged Motes?

For those who don’t know it yet, you can attack enemies with Matterspark just as you would other objects when attempting to overload them.

Attacking the enemies in the area while you have Matterspark active will cause them to drop Charged Motes when they are defeated.

This means that all you need to do is defeat enemies while Matterspark is active to get at least 5 of these Charged Motes to drop so you can collect them.

What To Do With The Charged Motes?

Once you have one or more Charged Motes, you can begin depositing them into the device that is marked by a waypoint.

This will cause you to deposit all of the Charged Motes that you are carrying, and you will need to deposit 5 to overload the device.

After 5 Charged Motes have been deposited, the barrier will be taken down and you can proceed to the next objective in the “Nostos” mission.

Verdict

Depositing Charged Motes into the device can be done easily, and you won’t have to worry about not having enough enemies since they will continue to spawn.

While your objective is to continue to deposit Charged Motes until a total of 5 have gone through, you can deposit many of these at the same time.

Just like with the part in the “Nostos” mission, Matterspark will have several other uses later on, and it is best to pay attention to any tutorials that pop up later.
