Destiny 2 Mission Jailbreak Walkthrough

Destiny 2 Mission: Jailbreak

  • Mission Type: Season of Defiance
  • Mission Location: Sunken Isles, European Dead Zone

A group of captives has been discovered in a secret Shadow Legion base and you will need to head with a team to rescue them.

You will be joined by Mithrax and Amanda Holliday as you search for the captives and attempt to break them out of their prison.

Eramis contacts Mithrax at the beginning of the mission and tells him to turn back as death will only follow if you proceed.

How To Get Mission Jailbreak?

Mission Jailbreak becomes available after you have reached quest step 21 in the We Stand Unbroken Seasonal Quest during Season of Defiance.

It is obtained after you have spoken with Devrim Kay via the Holoprojector at the farm to hear his briefing.

Mission Jailbreak ObjectivesFight with the Shadow Legion Forces to get inside the Shadow Legion base

1) Breach the Shadow Legion Prison

After being deployed, you will need to make your way to the secret Shadow Legion waypoint which is marked by a waypoint.

This will lead you to a large tunnel with Shadow Legion forces outside that you need to fight your way through to get inside.

2) Follow the Tunnel into Prison

Continue making your way to the tunnel that you just entered and at the end, you will be inside the Shadow Legion base.

Destroy all Armored Units inside the Shadow Legion base

3) Destroy All Armored Units

The place will be crawling with Shadow Legion and you will need to fight your way past them until you find the armored units.

These consist of 2 Goliath Tanks, a flying Thresher ship as well as a ton of combatants that will all be shooting at you.

You should make sure to use cover when you can to avoid taking too much damage and it would be best to target the Thresher last.

To complete this part of the mission, you will simply need to defeat the tanks and ship.

4) Rendezvous with Amanda

After clearing out the rest of the enemies, make your way toward the waypoint which will be up to the side of a ramp.

Defeating the boss Vereziia to free the prisoners

5) Defeat Vereziia, Reverent of the Witness

As you make your way to the waypoint, you will be ambushed by more Shadow Legion enemies as well as a boss called Vereziia, Reverent of the Witness.

You will need to defeat Vereziia and clear out the remaining enemies to proceed toward the waypoint to free the prisoners.

Vereziia is a variant of Tormentor and will be powerful, which makes it wise to clear out the other enemies around him first.

6) Eliminate the Reinforcements

Once you have reduced Vereziia’s health by a certain amount, he will disappear and you will need to clear out the Taken enemies that appear.

7) Defeat Vereziia, Reverent of the Witness

Vereziia will return and this time, you will be able to deplete his health until you have defeated him, which will allow you to proceed with rescuing the civilians.

8) Rendezvous with Amanda

After defeating the boss, head over up the ramp and proceed to make your way towards the waypoint, leading to where the captives are.

Securing the Hatch

9) Secure the Hatch

Once you reach the waypoint, you will need to interact with the nearby console to secure the hatch, which then triggers a cutscene.

The cutscene will show the prisoners escaping as well as the Guardian and Mithrax but there is also a tragedy that occurs.

After the cutscene is finished, the mission will be complete.

Mission Jailbreak Rewards

After completing Mission Jailbreak, you will be rewarded with legendary gear and will also be able to proceed to quest step 22 in the We Stand Unbroken quest.
