Mysterium is a feature in Destiny 2 that you can access at the Shaping Slab in Eris Morn’s Apartment located in The Last City.
Accessing this menu at the Shaping Slab will provide you with a collection of Faded Scrolls that are related to the Boons that you can collect in The Nether.
By obtaining Faded Scrolls, there will be certain advantages that you will have once you are delving into The Nether, making your runs easier.
What is Mysterium?
Mysterium is a collection of Faded Scrolls that you can check at any time whenever you are at Eris Morn’s Apartment. (Access the Shaping Slab to view this menu)
Collecting Boons in The Nether provides you with temporary bonuses that reset on your next run but this isn’t all you get since each time you collect them, you gain a permanent bonus.
Each instance you gather adds to a certain count and upon collecting several of these, you unlock the Faded Scroll for the said boon. (This is for Rare Faded Scrolls)
Legendary Faded Scrolls on the other hand require that you complete certain tasks such as unlocking Pinnacle Secrets or uncovering collectibles.
How To Get Faded Scrolls?
Boons can be found as you do your runs in The Nether and will often be rewarded when enemies are defeated, upon opening chests, and more.
The more Boons that you collect, the faster you will be able to unlock Faded Scrolls, which will provide you with bonuses in your next runs.
Having a Faded Scroll for a certain Boon will cause you to gain 2 stacks of the Boon each time, making it faster for you to reach higher buffs. (This is for Rare Faded Scrolls only)
Legendary Faded Scrolls will provide you with different effects such as gaining more rewards from rituals or finding more Sigil Stones.

Verdict
As you continue to do runs of The Nether, you will eventually be able to collect more Faded Scrolls, which will help you get more stacks of Boons or more rewards.
It is best to defeat as many enemies as you can, loot all the chests that you find, and complete the objectives in The Nether to get as many Faded Scrolls as possible later.
Once a Faded Scroll has been unlocked, its effects will take effect whenever you are in The Nether and this will happen with all future runs.
