The Curse of Endurance is one of the quests that need to be completed during The Taken Path quest and is required to proceed with the Exotic Quest.
During the Curse of Endurance, you will need to fight your way through the Altars of Sorrow and make use of a Taken Relic before later delving into The Nether.
Eventually, this leads you to search for a powerful entity that carries a Taken Osseous Fragment in the Trenchway aboard the Dreadnaught.
How To Get Curse of Endurance Quest?
The Curse of Endurance Quest becomes available once you have reached Quest Step 5 of The Taken Path Exotic Quest.
Upon reaching Quest Step 5, you will be able to obtain the Curse of Endurance along with the Curse of Urgency and the Curse of Revenge quests.
All 3 of these quests need to be completed before you will be able to progress to the last Quest Step of The Taken Path Exotic Quest.
Curse of Endurance Quest Steps (Objectives)
Step 1: Break Curse at Altars of Sorrow
This Quest Step instructs you to head to the Altars of Sorrow and use the Taken relic to defeat combatants quickly.
To do this, make your way to the Altar of Sorrows, search for the Taken relic nearby, and interact with it to begin using it.
You will have a set amount of time to continuously defeat enemies until a Taken Osseous Fragment appears and must be collected. (Defeating enemies extends the timer)
After completing the objective, head over to the marked area and this will cause you to break the Curse at the Altars of Sorrow. (For some reason we skipped Quest Step 1)
Step 2: Break the Protective Curses
Your next objective will be to break all of the Protective Curses, which includes the one that you have just finished at the Altar of Sorrows.
Similar to the other quests (Curse of Urgency and Curse of Revenge), you will need to complete Quest Step 1 to progress with this quest.
The following are where Protective Curses need to be broken:
- Curse of Endurance – Altar of Sorrows, Sorrow’s Harbor (Moon)
- Curse of Urgency – Hallowed Grove Lost Sector, The Sludge (EDZ)
- Curse of Revenge – Nightmare Hunt: Pride (Moon)
Step 3: Somewhere in the Nether, something carries the Taken Osseous Fragment you seek. Find and Defeat it.
The final Quest Step requires you to find a Hive Statue which you may interact with to summon a Taken Wizard, Hunter of Power.
For the Curse of Endurance, you will be able to find this in the Trenchway where there is a large crossing just before you enter the area where you face the Lezrel, Eversion Channeler.
Lezrel, Eversion Channeler is the Tormentor Boss that will become active once you have disrupted the Eversion Rituals in the Trenchway. (You can summon the Taken Wizard before the fight)
Once the Taken Wizard, Hunter of Power has been defeated, you may return to the statue to claim the Taken Osseous Fragment and this will complete the quest.
Verdict
Traveling through the Dreadnaught can be quite difficult for players who have not prepared their gear, which makes it a good thing you can skip most of the fighting and search for the statue.
If you happen to spawn in another location or do not encounter the Trenchway in your run of The Nether, you can redo the activity until you spawn there.
Some Guardians have decided to continuously restart the activity until they reach the Trenchway and search for the statue before restarting to reach another area for the other quests.
