Strange Pals can often be found wandering around Feybreak Island and one of them is a spider-like Pal called Tarantriss.
This Dark Pal can be a nuisance if it tends to catch you off guard and in groups, they tend to be dangerous due to the Status Conditions they can cause.
Having a Tarantriss of your own can be good for fighting your enemies but not only are they decent in battle, but they can also help you get around by shooting spider silk, similar to a Grappling Gun.
Tarantriss Location Map
Tarantriss can be found around the lower parts of the Scorched Hill region, which is close to the Frozen Coral Hill where a Field Boss variant may also be found.
If you happen to explore the Frozen Coral Hill, you may stumble upon Tarantriss, Tactician of the Thread Realm can be found at (-1340, 1428) and is accompanied by 2 other Tarantriss.
Tarantriss Uses
When utilized in combat, Tarantriss attacks with Dark active skills that can either inflict your enemies with Blind or Poison, making it a good way to cause chaos.
Tarantriss can be used as a mount, which provides you with a much faster way of getting around and it also provides you with a way to grapple around with its partner skill.
Aside from its mobility and abilities in combat, Tarantriss possesses several work skills that make it a handy Pal to have around your base.
Tarantriss Partner Skill
Tarantriss has the Tarantriss’s Web partner skill, which can be used to grapple you to surfaces and can be a good way to get around.
Using this can be done once you are riding Tarantriss, allowing you to aim the active skill and use it to grapple if you are within the appropriate range. (Has a 3 second cooldown)
Before you may ride Tarantriss and utilize its partner skill, you will need to unlock and craft the Tarantriss Saddle. (It needs to be in your Key Items inventory)
Tarantriss Work Suitability
Tarantriss has a moderate level with most of its work skills, making it a good addition to your base to fill in roles that other Pals cannot do.

Verdict
Having Tarantriss is a good way to get around if you don’t have a Grappling Gun and it has a much shorter cooldown. (You can also jump after grappling)
Tarantriss has a combination of Dark active skills that can be good for either reducing your enemy’s accuracy or poisoning them and this can be useful in a fight.
Assigning Tarantriss to your base will allow it to work on different tasks, switching between them depending on what you have going on in your base.
