How To Get Chromite in Palworld

Chromite is a rare ore that can only be obtained on Feybreak Island but this does not mean that the resource can be found just anywhere though.

Players who intend on crafting Hexolite will need a good amount of this material as it is one of the requirements needed for smelting it.

While Chromite is a rare resource, obtaining it in large quantities can be done once you figure out how to find and mine it.

How To Get Chromite?

Chromite can be obtained by mining Chromite Nodes, which are distinguished by a small formation of ore with a flag sticking out of it.

These can be found around certain parts of Feybreak Island, especially when you explore some of the caves and dungeons around the island.

Chromite can be efficiently gathered when using a Pickaxe (Better quality makes it easier to mine the nodes) while some Pals may also damage it like with other types of ore.

Another way to increase the amount of Chromite that you have would be to have a Smokie with you, which is one of the Pals introduced in the Feybreak Update. (Must be summoned)

How To Find Chromite Nodes?

1) Using a Metal Detector

Unlocking a Metal Detector can be done once you reach Level 56 and once you craft one, equipping it will allow you to find Chromite Nodes efficiently.

This is because the Metal Detector will continuously send out pulses that will become faster once you get near a node and will eventually reveal it when you are close.

2) Using Smokie

Smokie is a Dark Pal that was added in the Feybreak Update and has the “Dig, Dog! Dig!” Partner Skill, which allows it to emit a pulse similar to the Metal Detector.

This Partner Skill has a 3-second cooldown and makes it necessary to search in the right places to reveal the locations of Chromite Nodes.

Unlike the Metal Detector which continuously emits a pulse that reveals the location of Chromite Nodes, Smokie is considered the second and less effective method.

It is still advisable to have Smokie with you since having it summoned on the field will cause you to obtain more Chromite when mining the Chromite Nodes you find.

Best Places To Farm Chromite

1) Feybreak Island Caves

You can find caves on Feybreak Island and some of these will either have Alpha Pals or Bounty Targets that you may defeat but these are not the only things you can find in them.

Within the caves on Feybreak Island, there are nodes in the areas where you face the Cave Bosses, which may be revealed with a Smokie or Metal Detector.

The following are the caves where you may find Chromite along with an Alpha Pal or a Bounty Target that may be fought in the area:

2) Feybreak Island Dungeons

Exploring dungeons on Feybreak Island is a great way to get your hands on a lot of loot and another thing you can find is Chromite.

Chromite of course will need to be mined from Chromite Nodes, which you can discover as you explore the dungeons. (Metal Detector recommended while exploring)

3) Scorched Hill (Feybreak Island)

Scorched Hill is a good place to search for Chromite if you don’t feel like heading into caves at the moment and can be a good place to look around as a Great Eagle Statue is in the area.

You can simply teleport to the Scorched Hill Waypoint (Great Eagle Statue) and start looking around while holding onto a Metal Detector or use Smokie’s Partner Skill.

The following are the locations of the Chromite Nodes found in Scorched Hill:

• -1149, -1288
• -1183, -1179
• -1190, -1233
• -1200, -1271
• -1208, -1242
• -1209, -1261

Chromite Uses

Chromite is required for crafting Hexolite along with Hexolite Quartz and Ore and these are smelted together in a Giant Furnace.

Each Hexolite will cost 5 Chromite along with 12 Hexolite quartz and 20 Ore, making this material extremely valuable but worth it.

Only by making a decent amount of Hexolite will you be able to craft some of the more advanced equipment added in the Feybreak Update.

Verdict

Chromite can be farmed in large amounts, especially if you have a Smokie on your team and have even upgraded it.

Heading to each of the caves and setting up a way to repeatedly return to farm the Chromite in them is a good way to secure a lot of this resource for later.

Caves are considered to be the best source when it comes to Chromite since they are guaranteed to have 4 Chromite Nodes in them.
