You previously made your way to Yelesna to find out where a certain Knight named Vigo may be and Captain Ankers has given you the information you need.
It looks like there is more to the situation though as a group of Knights has already gone missing and Vigo is currently investigating.
You will now need to make your way to the mining camp to the north of Yelesna and search for Vigo to find out what he knows about the demon sighting and the missing Knights.
How To Get The Knight and the Magpie?
The Knight and the Magpie is a quest that begins after you have completed the Tarnished Luster quest, which had you speaking to Captain Ankers in Yelesna.
The Knight and the Magpie Quest Objectives
1) Go to the mining camp at Pine Hill
The mining camp was said to be north of Yelesna and you will need to make your way there (location marked on your map) to search for Vigo.
2) Speak with Vigo
Upon reaching the camp, Vigo will be somewhere in the area and you will need to head over to him by following the marker showing his location.
Gigo will be near the entrance to the mines and you will need to speak to him, which begins a cutscene where you meet Neyrelle.
3) Follow Vigo to the Ore Hoist
After the cutscene, the three of you will be heading into the mines and will be making your way to the Ore Hoist to check things out.
4) Slay the Ghouls
Once you reach the Ore Hoist, you will discover that it is stuck and suddenly, several ghouls will arrive and begin to attack you.
You will need to slay the ghouls before you can proceed, to find another way to get into the mines with Neyrelle and Vigo.
5) Go to the Sealed Gate with Vigo
Vigo will lead the way to a Sealed Gate and you will need to follow him to it, which he begins to open once all three of you have arrived.
Once the gate has been opened, Vigo will tell everyone to keep close and the path to the Condemned Mines is revealed.
The Knight and the Magpie Rewards
The Knight and the Magpie quest will end once Vigo has opened the gate to the Condemned Mines, which rewards you with XP and Gold that scale with your level.
Additionally, upon completion of the quest, you will also obtain a main-hand weapon related to your character.
Verdict
You were able to catch up to Vigo, who has not yet discovered what entirely is going on and you also meet the person claiming to have seen the demon.
Neyrelle describes the demon and it seems that this is Lilith, which leads to the three of you searching the mines for her and Neyrelles mother.
The path into the mines is a perilous one, which requires that the three of you stick together if you plan on surviving what lies beyond the entrance.
