How To Open Lair Boss Hoards?

Lair Bosses no longer require summoning materials before the fight, as the system now focuses on opening reward hoards after defeating them.

Initiate Lair Bosses require a standard Lair Key, while Greater Lair Bosses require Greater Lair Keys to unlock their hoards afterward.

Belial uses Betrayer’s Husks instead, while Astaroth and Bartuc are tied to Escalating Nightmares and Infernal Horde progression systems.

New Lair Key System in Season 13

Season 13 replaced the older boss-specific summoning materials with a simpler key system tied directly to opening Lair Boss hoards.

Instead of farming separate materials for every boss summon, Initiate Lair Bosses now use a general Lair Key to unlock their hoards after the fight.

Greater Lair Bosses require Greater Lair Keys instead, giving access to better rewards and improved Mythic Unique farming opportunities.

Exalted Lair Bosses work differently, as Belial requires Betrayer’s Husks while Astaroth and Bartuc are tied to Escalating Nightmares and Infernal Horde activities.

Best Lair Bosses To Farm

Andariel is currently one of the best bosses for farming Warlock Uniques due to the number of powerful Season 13 items in her loot pool.

Bartuc is another excellent option for Demonology-focused builds because several summon-related Warlock Uniques can drop from his hoard.

Belial remains one of the most rewarding bosses overall since his hoard can pull rewards from multiple Lair Boss pools at once.

Verdict

Season 13 gives players much more control over Unique farming thanks to the updated Lair Boss hoard and key systems.

Knowing which boss drops the item you need can greatly speed up progression and reduce wasted farming time during endgame content.

Whether you are farming Mythic Uniques, Warlock gear, or build-defining items, learning the Season 13 Lair Boss loot tables is extremely important for efficient farming.
