Diablo 4: Andariel (Location, Summon, Loot & Defeating)

Andariel is one of the Lesser Evils from the Diablo series, and her appearance in Diablo 4 gives players the chance to face a terrifying new version of the Maiden of Anguish.

While she is encountered during the campaign, Andariel can later be challenged as a Greater Lair Boss to obtain powerful rewards and valuable Unique Items.

The encounter is considered one of the more challenging boss fights in the endgame, requiring players to fight Andariel as well as avoid the many dangers during the fight.

Andariel Location (Hanged Man’s Hall)

Andariel may be challenged in the Hanged Man’s Hall, which is located within the Scouring Sands in the Kehjistan region.

You can easily reach the Hanged Man’s Hall by traveling east from Tarsarak once you have reached Torment difficulty.

You can fast travel directly to the Hanged Man’s Hall by selecting it on your map.

Summoning and Defeating Andariel

After entering Hanged Man’s Hall and traveling to The Wounded Court, interact with the Altar of Anguish to begin the encounter with Andariel.

This will cause Andariel to spawn into the area and she will knock you back before starting to attack you, which involves unleashing a Poison Nova, Lightning projectiles, and melee attacks.

When a portion of Andariel’s health has been reduced, she will disappear and Effigies of Anguish will appear, which need to be destroyed. (You need to stay within their circles)

During this phase, you will need to avoid the wave that she unleashed, which can be done by avoiding the rotating marker that shows where it will hit.

Andariel will appear once again and you will need to reduce her health but this time, the previous attacks and a new one will appear. (Rotating skulls that unleash hellfire)

Avoid the rotating skulls as they can kill you with one hit and continue destroying the effigies until Andariel appears to attack you once more.

All of the previous attacks including the rotating marker and skulls will appear after you reduce her health once more but once the effigies have been dealt with again, she can now be killed.

How To Open Andariel’s Hoard Chest?

After defeating Andariel, she starts to burn up and crumble to the ground, which later causes Andariel’s Hoard to appear.

Opening Andariel’s Hoard requires 1 Greater Lair Key, which is consumed when used and applies to all Greater Lair Boss Hoards.

Verdict

Andariel is one of the more challenging Greater Lair Bosses and becomes much easier once you learn how to deal with each phase of the encounter.

Several of her attacks can quickly kill unprepared players, making movement and awareness more important than simply dealing damage.

Learning the timing of her mechanics and dealing with the Effigies efficiently will make the fight significantly more consistent and rewarding to farm.
