With the preparation for the druids’ ritual complete, it is time for you and Bryona to make your way to the Scar where it will be performed.
This is a ritual that aims to cleanse Astaroth’s corruption, but demons will be drawn to the blood that will be used, and your help is also needed.
You will need to meet up with Bryona, and the two of you will journey to the Scar to participate in the ritual and attempt to make it work.
How To Get Reopening The Wound Seasonal Quest?
Reopening The Wound becomes available once you have gained enough Horadric Knowledge and have reached Tier 5, which unlocks the quest.
This will usually be after players have completed the To Walk Where Spirits Tread quest, which previously had you obtain a Blood Relic with the help of the Wolf Spirit.
Reopening The Wound Quest Walkthrough
Start by making your way to Tirmair, where you will speak with Bryona, who is waiting for you in what appears to be some sort of inn.
Bryona will begin following you after your conversation, and both of you will head for the Scar, which is located in the Highland Wilds in Scosglen.
Upon arriving, you will find Davish waiting for the two of you, and he will need to be spoken to for you to continue with the quest.
After speaking to Davish, a dungeon nearby called The Scar will be accessible, and you may now enter it to join the druids to perform the ritual.
Speak with Bryona to begin the ritual, and shortly after your conversation, she will begin chanting, and you will be required to perform certain tasks for the ritual.
This involves activating the cleansing incense, retrieving a Fallen head, and offering it to cause Horadric Glyphs to appear.
Stand in the Horadric Glyph that has no one in it, and as the ritual continues, Astaroth interrupts and eventually corrupts the Wolf Spirit.
You and the druids will be ambushed by demons, and this requires that all of them be killed before everyone escapes.
Head outside after the druids leave and speak to Bryona, who is very upset, and shortly after, the quest will come to an end.
Reopening The Wound Quest Rewards
Completing this quest does not provide any major rewards, but it does give you XP, Gold and a Murmuring Cache while the next quest will be pending if you need to complete The Truths That Lie Within.
If you have already gained enough Horadric Knowledge and have reached Tier 6, a new quest called The Unseeable Demands Their Gaze.
Verdict
After careful preparation and effort, the ritual ended up failing, and to make things worse, Astaroth had corrupted the Wolf Spirit.
This has left the druids shattered, especially Bryona, who has now made her way back to Cerrigar and will be taking a break from everything.
While things are amiss, the best option would be to gain more Horadric Knowledge and hope that a plan comes up sooner or later.
