The Fleeting Hordes is an easier version of the activity that lets you experience similar gameplay before progressing into higher difficulties in the main Infernal Hordes.
Players can find Fleeting Hordes Compasses at lower world difficulties and use them to enter a toned-down version that prepares them for the real challenge ahead.
This makes it easier to gear up and get used to the activity before moving into Torment difficulties, where the rewards and difficulty increase.
The Fleeting Hordes
The Fleeting Hordes is an easier version of the activity that lets you experience similar gameplay before progressing into higher difficulties in the main Infernal Hordes.
Players can find Fleeting Hordes Compasses at lower world difficulties and use them to enter a toned-down version that prepares them for the real challenge ahead.
Fleeting Hordes consists of only four waves and ends with a fight against two Fell Council members, making it a great introduction for early-game players.
Chaos Waves
Chaos Waves are a new addition to the Infernal Hordes that create greater challenges by spawning more enemies and opening dangerous Chaos Rifts throughout the wave.
There will be a chance for The Chaotic Offering to appear during the Infernal Offering selection part that happens after each wave, but this only happens by chance.
These waves push you to survive against overwhelming enemy numbers but reward you with large amounts of Burning Aether, helping you prepare for the final fight against Bartuc.
The Fell Council Changes
The Fell Council encounter has been updated with new attack patterns, enhanced abilities, and tougher mechanics that make the climactic battle more engaging and challenging.
Players now need to adjust their strategies and remain alert throughout the fight, as the bosses deploy more devastating attacks and unpredictable area-denial effects.
Defeating the reworked Fell Council is more rewarding than ever, as their improved loot table offers better endgame gear alongside valuable resources for crafting and upgrades.
Bartuc, Lord of Chaos (New Boss)
Bartuc, Lord of Chaos, has been added as a new boss in the Infernal Hordes and brings a fresh challenge for players to face.
He unleashes a relentless series of powerful attacks and devastating area-denial abilities that force you to keep moving and dodge carefully to stay alive.
At the end of a run, you can choose to face Bartuc instead of the Fell Council, and defeating him at Torment III or IV guarantees a drop of Chaos Armor.
Chaos Armor can still drop for Bartuc on Torment I and II, but there is only a chance for this to happen, making it best to grind on higher difficulties.
Verdict
The Infernal Hordes Reborn update has transformed the activity into a more rewarding and intense endgame experience that keeps players engaged with better loot and fresh challenges.
With the addition of Chaos Waves, the revamped Fell Council encounter, and Bartuc’s deadly new boss fight, each run feels more exciting and worth the effort.
The introduction of Chaos Armor adds another layer of motivation, making Infernal Hordes one of the most valuable and enjoyable activities to farm in Diablo 4.
