Diablo 4’s Season of Witchcraft introduces Witchcraft Powers that you can unlock as you progress throughout the season and these can give you a huge advantage.
On their own, your characters can utilize different builds to dominate enemies but with the addition of certain Witchcraft Powers, they can be unstoppable.
The thing is, certain Lost Witchcraft Powers cannot be unlocked like the others, and finding Forgotten Altars needs to be done to unlock them.
What Are The Lost Witchcraft Powers?
Lost Witchcraft Powers are some of the Witchcraft Powers that you can’t unlock as you would the other ones that require Restless Rot.
These Witchcraft Powers are marked with the Forgotten Altars or Lost Powers symbols, which is the same symbol that you will see when these altars appear in a dungeon.
Some of these Lost Powers are vital for enhancing builds in the Season of Witchcraft and are now sought after by players.
How To Unlock Lost Witchcraft Powers?
To unlock Lost Witchcraft Powers, you will need to search for Forgotten Altars that randomly appear in almost any dungeon.
Once you have located a Forgotten Altar, interacting with it will unlock one of the Lost Powers and you will be able to use it from then on.
Searching Forgotten Altars can take up a lot of time as they have a low chance of appearing in a dungeon, which scales depending on your current difficulty. (They start appearing on Torment I)
All Lost Witchcraft Powers
The following are all the Lost Witchcraft Powers that you can unlock by finding and interacting with Forgotten Altars.
- Breath of the Coven – Dealing damage or applying Crowd Control with an Eldritch, Psyche, or Growth & Decay Effects increases your Attack Speed by 10 seconds. (Stacks once per category)
- Hex Specialization – Your Hexes become more potent. At Rank 10, you gain a 20% Critical Strike Chance against enemies affected by your Hexes.
- Aura Specialization – Your Auras gain more Size. At Rank 10, You deal 35% increased Critical Strike Damage to enemies within your Auras.
- Piranhado – When an enemy is afflicted by both a Hex and an Aura Effect, Piranhado is summoned pulling enemies towards and dealing physical damage over time.
Finding Forgotten Altars
Forgotten Altars can be found inside different dungeons but the chances of encountering them are low, but this can be increased with a Draught of Whispers.
While exploring almost any dungeon, there is a chance for the Forgotten Altars to appear and this chance increases depending on your World Difficulty.
One of the fastest dungeons to run is Hoarfrost Demise since it can quickly be completed, giving you multiple runs in a small amount of time.
Verdict
Hex Specialization and Aura Specialization are sometimes utilized along with Piranhado, which makes it ideal for some players to hunt for several Forgotten Altars.
It appears that the Lost Witchcraft Powers are unlocked in a specific order, whereas Piranhado is unlocked after the first 3 of them.
Once a Lost Witchcraft Power has been unlocked, it may be equipped at any time and upgraded just like the other Witchcraft Powers.
