Ophidian Iris is a Unique Amulet that works well with Sorcerer Builds that utilize the Hydra skill, allowing you to deal a great deal of damage to multiple enemies.

Ophidian Iris has affixes that increase Intelligence, Attack Speed, Pyromancy Damage, and add additional ranks to Primordial Binding.
Additionally, Ophidian Iris has inherent affixes that provide Resistance to All Elements and cause Casted Hydras to have additional heads.

Ophidian Iris Effects
When equipped, Ophidian Alters your Hydras, making them larger while also limiting them to having only 3 heads per group that is cast.
Hydra becomes a Core Skill now, allowing it to be boosted by certain items and aspects, and to make things even better, its projectiles explode on impact.
The tradeoff between the fixed number of heads is that for each additional head that the Hydras should have had, their damage is increased.
Ophidian Iris Uses
The increase in Intelligence, Pyromancy Damage, and Primordial Binding is a great way for you to boost the damage dealt by your Hydras.
When it comes to survivability, having an increased 30% Resistance to all Elements can be extremely useful when you are playing on higher difficulties.
With the ability to damage multiple enemies with explosive projectiles, Hydra can be effective when it comes to clearing out large groups that you encounter.
How To Get Ophidian Iris?
Like most unique items, Ophidian Iris can drop from different sources, but the chances are slim unless you target certain bosses.
Ophidian Iris is dropped more often by the following bosses:
- Andariel (Hanged Man’s Hall)
- Duriel (Gaping Crevasse)
- Harbinger of Hatred (Harbinger’s Den)

Ophidian Iris is an excellent item for Hydra Sorcerer Builds, especially if you want to be able to deal high amounts of damage.
Thanks to the AOE damage provided by your Hydras after equipping this amulet, your Hydras can easily clear out groups of enemies.
Since Ophidian Iris causes your Hydra Skill to become a Core Skill, you can further increase its damage by utilizing the different ways to modify Core Skills.
