Abhorrent Heart is one of the types of Lair Boss Keys that was introduced in Season 8: Belial’s Return, which is used to unlock a Hoard Chest of one of the Greater Lair Bosses.
Obtaining Abhorrent Hearts is not as easy to do unlike with the Initiate Boss Lair Keys but as you progress, you are bound to get a few now and then.
Getting a lot of Abhorrent Hearts is a good way for you to prepare to take on Mephisto’s Beast and loot the rewards that await you within its Hoard.
How To Get Abhorrent Heart?
Abhorrent Heart is known to drop from the Fields of Judgement Lair Boss Hoard, which is the Boss Lair that has you facing off against Urivar.
Other ways to obtain Abhorrent Hearts are to defeat World Bosses when they are available or by completing the Kurast Undercity activity with a Tribute of Titans modifier active.
If you happen to have Stygian Stones with you, using them within the Harbinger’s Den will cause them to transmute into Abhorrent Hearts.
Abhorrent Heart Uses
Abhorrent Heart is required to open the Harbinger of Hatred’s Hoard, which is a chest that spawns when you defeat the Harbinger of Hatred in the Harbinger’s Den.
Each time you attempt to open the Harbinger of Hatred’s Hoard, you will be required to have 3 Abhorrent Heart, which may provide you with specific loot that may include the following:

Verdict
Since Abhorrent Hearts are used for a Greater Lair Boss Hoard, this will require only 3 of this Lair Boss Key but it is a bit harder to obtain than the earlier keys that you find.
The fight against the Harbinger of Hatred may be tough but in the end, you are bound to get several unique items and other useful loot.
Abhorrent Hearts will be obtainable once you reach Torment I and the same goes with other bosses that you will want to challenge.
