While exploring Skovos, you encounter a man to the east of Tevis who seems to be trying to catch fish, and it turns out he has not been so lucky.
He hands you his Fishing Rod and challenges you to catch a fish, since he has not caught a single one for a while since he started.
This serves as a part of the introduction to fishing following the feature quest that unlocks the ability to fish in Diablo 4.
How To Get Favor for a Favor Quest?
Favor For A Favor quest becomes active right after you have completed the Fishing (Featured Quest), after you have spoken to Shi Yugong.
Favor for a Favor Walkthrough
Once you get this quest, all you need to do is fish in the area, which can be done by selecting the “Cast Fishing Line” option from your emotes.
After casting your line, perform any skill to pull the fish out once it takes a bite on your line, and the fish will be dropped near you.
Pick up the fish after it drops and consume it to add it to your collection before speaking with Shi Yugong, who will ask you to catch more fish.
You will then need to catch a Kokalodon, Silverbelly, and a Darkling, which all drop from the area, and you can simply fish where you currently are.
Similar to what you did with the first fish that you caught, add these to your collection and speak to Shi Yugong again to complete the quest.
Favor for a Favor Quest Rewards
Speaking to Shi Yugong after catching and adding the fish to your collection will complete the Favor for a Favor quest.
This will reward you with XP and Gold, as well as add the next Fishing Quest called The One That Got Away for you to complete next.
Verdict
Favor for a Favor serves as a simple introduction to fishing in Diablo 4, easing you into the mechanics without requiring much effort or complex objectives.
While the quest itself is straightforward, it sets the foundation for collecting different fish across regions and introduces the idea of completing your fishing collection over time.
After witnessing your skill with the rod, Shi Yugong entrusts you with a more personal task, believing that a certain elusive fish may hold the key to restoring fragments of his fading memories.
