Your attempt to reach Ah Bulan was almost for nothing but luckily, his heart remained after he was defeated without being consumed by the corruption.
Eru took on the task of cutting out Ah Bulan’s Heart and together, you will now need to bring this to Neyrelle in hopes that it will help her.
Your path leads you back to the Durance of Hate but this time, you and Eru will not be alone as the Spirit of Akarat watches over you.
How to Get A Deeper Sickness Quest?
A Deeper Sickness begins after you have completed the quest called Across The Threshold, where you previously acquired Ah Bulan’s Heart.
This was a last attempt to make use of Ah Bulan due to him being consumed by corruption but his heart was left intact.

A Deeper Sickness Quest Walkthrough
After you have left the Spirit Realm, you will be making your way to Eru, who is waiting for you at the Blighted Verge.
Speak with Eru and afterward, you will make your way to the Durance of Hate and will need to deal with an enemy called Languisher.
Once the Languisher has been defeated, continue by making your way into the Durance of Hate as the entrance will now be open.
Once you enter the Durance of Hate, continue making your way through the area until you reach the path you previously took but this time it will be blocked.
The Spirit of Akarat will appear and open up a path for you, giving you a new way to reach Neyrelle who is waiting for you along with Mephisto.
Fight your way through the enemies in the Durance of Hate and eventually, you will reach a large gap but the Spirit of Akarat will help you cross by creating a bridge.
After crossing the bridge, you will find The Dedicant Isabella and will need to speak with Akarat before you proceed with the search for Neyrelle.
The Spirit of Akarat will appear once again and open up the doors that lead deeper within the Durance of Hate, which is where you will go next.
This eventually brings you to Neyrelle, who is subdued by demons that you will need to kill to free her from their grasp.
After you have killed the demons, you will need to speak to Eru and this begins a cutscene where you hand over Ah Bulan’s Heart to Neyrelle.
Neyrelle seems to be losing her mind but when the Spirit of Akarat appears, she fights back against the corruption and devours Ah Bulan’s Heart.
Regaining her strength, Neyrelle picks up the Soulstone and appears to be more in control and the cutscene ends as she rides off on the Spirit of Akarat’s back. (Quest ends afterward)
A Deeper Sickness Rewards
XP and Gold are rewarded based on your level once you complete A Deeper Sickness, which also makes the Fragile Blessings Quest available.
Verdict
With the help of Akarat, you and Eru were able to make your way to Neyrelle and save her from a group of demons.
Neyrelle appears to have recovered in some way after consuming Ah Bulan’s Heart but she is still weakened and has now gone off with the Spirit of Akarat.
You and Eru are still in the Durance of Hate and should make your way out to rejoin Neyrelle and Eru back at Kurast.
