Step 1: Defeat combatants with Sidearms or Auto Rifles to narrow down the weapon’s projectile type

You will need to use either Sidearms or Auto Rifles (Any damage type) to defeat combatants anywhere in the system.

This includes doing activities, missions, ritual activities, and more as long as you defeat your enemies with the specified weapons.

Defeating Guardians will grant you bonus progress with this quest step.

  • Sidearm/Auto Rifle Final Blows (Reach 100% progress)

Step 2: Defeat combatants with Arc or Solar damage to provide a signature reading

Failsafe needs more data on the weapon that you have found and would like you to test out Arc and Solar weapons on your enemies.

This requires that you use weapons that have the Arc or Solar damage type to deal final blows to other combatants anywhere in the system.

Similar to the first quest step, defeating Guardians will grant more progress.

  • Arc/Solar Final Blows (Reach 100% progress)

Step 3: Generate Orbs of Power to generate some potential comparison data for Failsafe to study

Additional data is required and this time, you will need to generate Orbs of Power using any source of damage to create them.

This may include using supers or defeating enemies with weapons that have mods added for your builds that cause them to generate Orbs of Power.

Completing this quest step may take a lot of time if you don’t do this in areas with a lot of enemies since the more combatants there are, the faster it can be completed.

You can speed up your progress by doing Crucible or Gambit matches as these will grant bonus progress.

  • Generate Orbs of Power
