After being asked to do some investigating and to extract samples from Nessus, Failsafe has now provided you with a new tool to use.
This tool is called the Piston Hammer and it will allow you to activate Planetary Pistons on Nessus, which will cause more samples to appear.
Failsafe requires that you continue your search for samples but something else is bound to appear that needs to be collected.

Step 1: Deposit collected samples at Failsafe’s Radiolite Bay in the H.E.L.M.
Once you start this quest, you should already have samples on you and these need to be placed in the Radiolite Bay aboard the H.E.L.M.
The Radiolite Bay may be found near Failsafe and to place the samples inside of it, all you need to do is approach and interact with it.
- Deposit samples
Step 2: Failsafe has fabricated a Piston Hammer for you. Striking Vex Assimilation Pistons with it will drive nearby veins of Radiolite to the surface for sampling
The Piston Hammer is ready to be claimed and you may use this later to force samples to appear once you collect it from Failsafe.
- Visit Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. (Collect Piston Hammer)
Step 3: Secure Extracted Data for Failsafe in the Breach Executable activity, which can be launched from the H.E.L.M.
With the Piston Hammer now in your grasp, it’s time to do a Breach Executable activity to test it out and obtain more data.
You will need to fight the Vex to obtain data and also use the Piston Hammer to obtain more samples in the activity.
- Extract Data (Reach 100% progress)
- Activate 1 Planetary Assimilation Piston
Step 4: Speak with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. to review her final specimen analysis report.

- Review Failsafe’s report
Step 5: Travel to the H.E.L.M. and place the Seized Radiolite Incubator into your specimen collection.

Summary
Failsafe is quite keen on figuring out what the anomaly that landed on Nessus has done and through the specimens you collect, she has a good chance of figuring it out.
During the quest, you were given the Piston Hammer, which can now be used further to get more samples to speed up the collection process.
While there is a lot more to be discovered, you and Failsafe have made good progress but there is still more that needs to be done.
