After you had investigated the strange anomaly that hit Nessus like a meteor, you were able to extract Failsafe and bring her to the H.E.L.M.
Failsafe has now delivered a Standard Radiolite Sample for you to use to extract samples from Nessus that have appeared as a result of the anomaly.
This quest will have you finding out what the strange anomaly is and what it is doing to Nessus and its inhabitants.
How To Get A Rising Chorus: Act 1 Quest?
A Rising Chorus: Act 1 becomes available once you have completed the Echoes Act 1: A Familiar Voice, which is how Failsafe was brought to the H.E.L.M.
Guardians who have started playing during The Final Shape update will have access to the previous quest and may unlock this one after its completion.
A Rising Chorus: Act 1 Quest Steps
Step 1: Begin your research with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
Failsafe has a Standard Radiolite Sampler for you and you will need to speak to her to obtain it, which you will need later throughout the quest.

Step 2: Investigate the locations Failsafe marked on Nessus
Failsafe has marked a few locations where you can find silica formations and you will need to head to these and extract the samples by interacting with them.
- Take samples (3 in total)
Step 3: Collect the object from The Well of Flame
As you were extracting samples, a minor quake took place and a unique object was revealed, which you must now collect.
Head into The Well of Flame and go to the item marked by a waypoint to interact with the object to extract it.

Step 4: Take the research specimen to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
Now that you have obtained the specimen, you will need to bring it back to the H.E.L.M. for Failsafe to process.

Step 5: Discuss your research finding with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
After the specimen is analyzed, Failsafe will want to speak with you to inform you of what has been found. (Speak with her at the H.E.L.M.)

Failsafe needs time to continue analyzing the data that you have claimed from the aberrant Vex on Nessus and will reach out to you once finished.
Week 2 Quest Steps
Step 7: Continue your Nessus research by speaking to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
With the continuation of the second week of A Rising Chorus: Act I, its time to visit failsafe again to see what she has for you.

Step 8: Deploy Failsafe’s proximity sensor in the Exodus Black area of Nessus
Failsafe requires that you deploy one of her proximity sensors near the Exodus Black, which can be found by following the Proximity Meter bar on your HUD.
You will need to head to the Exodus Black and move around the area near the waypoint in order to fill the meter, which shows how close you are.
The location where you will deploy the Proximity Meter can be found south of the Exodus Black inside one of the round ship parts.

Step 9: Deploy Failsafe’s proximity sensor in the Glade of Echoes area of Nessus
Another proximity sensor needs to be deployed and this time you will need to travel to the Glade of Echoes to find it.
You will be able to find the spot within the wreckage that has an entrance and resorting to the Proximity Meter will help you close in on it.

Step 10: Go to the Hallows on Nessus to complete Failsasfe’s Scan Data
While the scan data is still complete, Failsafe believes that she can find the location for the next scan within the Hallows.
Continue following the waypoint and use the Proximity Meter to find the last scan location, which is just around the side of the large round cave you enter.

Step 11: Collect the research specimen within the Hallows
After completing the scan, head towards the waypoint near you to find the specimen that needs to be collected and you will be able to interact with it.

Step 12: Deliver the newly collected specimen to the terminal in the mainframe room of the “Exodus Crash” Strike on Nessus
You will need to deposit the data in Failsafe’s Mainframe and this can be done by starting the Exodus Crash Strike on Nessus.
During the mission, you will be able to deposit the specimen once you reach the dark room before making your way to the boss.

Step 13: Complete a run of Breach Executable and locate NES002-C
Another sample has shown up and you will need to do a Breach Executable activity and also find the sample.
The sample can be found during your second encounter with the Vex and a Proximity Meter will appear on your HUD so you can find it.
After obtaining the sample, you will need to complete the Breach Executable activity to complete this quest step.

Step 14: Check Failsafe’s initial analysis of the specimen
You will need to speak with Failsafe to see what she has found out about the specimen that you have just obtained.
This will also allow you to obtain the Specimen ID: NES002 quest from Failsafe.

Step 15: Deliver your research to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
Once you catch up to Failsafe, continue your conversation with her in the H.E.L.M. to progress to the next quest step.

With the data that you have just provided, Failsafe will now be going through everything and will get in touch with you once finished.
Week 3 Quest Steps
Step 17: Receive a mission briefing from Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
After waiting for an update from Failsafe, you will now need to head over to her in the H.E.L.M. and speak with her to find out what comes next.

Step 18: Locate sites from which to extract Radiolaria samples
Failsafe has instructed you to obtain Radiolaria samples and the first place you will be started in will be The Cistern on Nessus.
Head to The Cistern make your way to the site marked by your waypoint and interact with the Radiolaria samples to obtain them.

Step 19: Locate sites from which to extract Radiolaria samples
After collecting Radiolaria samples from The Cistern, your next task will be to find more in the Chamber of Water.
A quick way to reach this place is to fast-travel to Watcher’s Grave continue making your way through a portal and follow the waypoint to the location.

Step 20: Locate sites from which to extract Radiolora samples
More samples need to be obtained after the ones you recently collected and this time, you will be making your way to the Pool of Luminance.
Follow the waypoint to reach this location as it may be a long walk and once you arrive, proceed with collecting the samples.

Step 21: Answer Osiris’s call for assistance and meet him in the H.E.L.M.
Osiris contacted you after you obtained your last batch of samples and it seems that something has happened as he is in a panic.
All that he mentioned is that it is about Saint-14 and you will need to meet him at the H.E.L.M. to find out what has happened.

Step 22: Answer Osiris’s call for assistance and meet him in the H.E.L.M.
Osiris has lost contact with Saint-14 but the strange thing is that his comms are open and there is no interference.
You will need to search for Saint-14 using the last coordinates that he was known to be at and see what has happened in the “Mesmerize” mission.
You can start this mission by accessing Nessus from your destination menu.

Step 23: Meet with the rescued Saint-14 in the H.E.L.M.
Saint-14 has been rescued and is now safely back at the H.E.L.M. but something is different about him and you will need to speak with the group to find out what happened.

Step 24: Discus Saint-14’s ordeal with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
After witnessing the breakdown that Saint-14 is having, you will need to speak with Failsafe about the issue at hand.

Step 25: END OF EPISODE: ECHOES ACT 1
It is revealed that a presence known as the Conductor has put strange thoughts into Saint-14’s mind and this is causing the strange behavior.
While Saint-14 is currently shaken by the recent events that have occurred, you will have to wait for Ikora to contact you for Act II.
A Rising Chorus: Act 1 Quest Rewards
Through the course of A Rising Chorus: Act 1, you will be able to collect various rewards such as engrams, gear, and more depending on the activities you complete.

Summary
It is a good thing that you were able to bring Failsafe to the H.E.L.M. as she seems to be the best choice when it comes to the anomalies, samples, and even the Vex.

The origin of the anomaly is still unknown but some believe this may be tied to the event where the Guardians defeated the Witness.
