Destiny 2: Renegades Introduction Quest

The Renegades Introduction Quest begins the seasonal storyline by placing you at the center of Drifter’s unexpected capture, which forces you to intervene before larger threats unfold.

Your immediate priority becomes rescuing Drifter from the Imperium, setting off a series of events that eventually lead both of you toward the Tharsis Cantina for critical investigation.

As the situation escalates, you are tasked with repairing Drifter’s damaged Ghost, pushing you across the Lawless Frontier to gather the parts needed to restore her fully.

How To Get Renegades Introduction Quest?

The Renegades Quest is separate from the similarly named Campaign Quest because the campaign version activates automatically at the season’s start and follows its own progression.

Logging into the game and selecting any character immediately places you into the Imperium Mission, which serves as the required opening step for the Renegades Quest.

Completing or even exiting Imperium keeps the Renegades Quest fully available, allowing you to relaunch the mission at any time to continue progressing its intended objectives.

Renegades Introduction Quest Steps

Step 1: Complete Mission “Imperium”

Drifter has been captured by the Dredgen, and you will need to rescue him, which will be done during the “Imperium” Mission.

The Imperium Mission begins once you log in after the Renegades update, or may be launched from this quest’s menu.

Step 2: Speak with Commander Zavala at the Tower

After rescuing Drifter, he needs to be informed about the new threat that you and the rest of the crew discovered.

You will need to head to The Tower and find Zavala, where he usually is located, to speak with him about what happened.

Step 3: Speak with Drifter at Tharsis Cantina

After escaping the Imperium and speaking with Zavala, your next step will be to head to the Tharsis Cantina, which is accessible from The Lawless Frontier. (Latest Expansion)

Step 4: Visit the Piker Bouncer

Mars is full of crime syndicates, and you will need to see what you can find out about the recent events by first heading into the Cantina and speaking to the Piker Bouncer.

Step 5: Speak with Aunor in the Tharsis Cantina

The Piker Bouncer simply laughed in your face, but there are other ways to go about things, which leads you to seek out Aunor in the Cantina and speak to her.

Make your way to the marked area and sit down, which will eventually start a scene where she appears and discusses what to do next.

Step 6: Speak with Drifter’s Ghost at Tharsis Cantina

After speaking with Aunor, make your way to Drifter’s Ghost and interact with it to begin a conversation, which doesn’t go too well since she can’t communicate properly now.

Step 7: Speak with Drifter at Tharsis Cantina

With the lack of communication between you and Drifter’s Ghost, the best thing to do would be to speak to him so he can translate what she is saying. (Speak with Drifter)

Step 8: Access the Recording that Drifter left for you

Once you have finished speaking with Drifter, you will need to locate the recording that he has left for you and interact with it to see what his message is about.

Step 9: Search for Ghost Parts in the Tharsis Bazaar

Drifter has a plan that will result in his Ghost being fixed, but he needs your help obtaining Ghost Parts from different locations in the Tharsis Bazaar. (Outside of the Tharsis Cantina)

The different Ghost Parts can be found in the following areas, and they are marked with waypoints:

  • Tharsis Bazaar Armorers
  • Tharsis Bazaar Scrap Mercantile
  • Tharsis Unpaired Ghost Commune

Step 10: Reach out to Spider for assistance in repairing Drifter’s Ghost

While your search for the Ghost Parts was successful, you are still lacking certain components, and the last option is to get help from Spider.

Head to Spider in the Tharsis Cantina and speak to Spider, who will most likely want something in return for helping you out.

Step 11: Complete Mission “Welcome to the Frontier.”

Spider has lost contact with his courier crew and needs your help searching for them, which mainly means he is sending you on your own.

You will need to help Spider by searching for the crew in the Welcome to the Frontier mission.

Step 12: Speak to Spider in the Tharsis Cantina

After helping Spider out and exfiltrating from the Lawless Frontier with his package still intact, it’s time to head back to him to get your reward for helping him out.

Visit Spider again at the Tharsis Cantina to get the parts that he promised you so that you can restore Drifter’s Ghost.

Step 13: Visit Drifter’s Ghost at Tharsis Cantina

The final component has been provided by Spider, and now it is time to seek Drifter’s Ghost at the Tharsis Cantina, which will now result in her being fixed.

You will need to speak to Blue (Drifter’s Ghost) and will discover that she is already repaired and has quite a mouth on her, along with a lot of aggression towards Drifter.

After speaking to Blue and claiming the reward she gives, the quest will be complete.

Renegades Introduction Quest Rewards

Completing the Renegades (Introduction) Quest will provide you with the Renegades Campaign Quest, which is the main quest for Destiny 2: Renegades.

During the introductory quest, you will be able to collect rewards in the form of dropped loot from enemies and chests that you find.

Early in the Imperium Mission that you do in Quest Step 1, you will be able to get your hands on the All Or Nothing (Legendary Pulse Rifle that serves as a useful boost when you start the quest.

Verdict

By successfully repairing Drifter’s Ghost, now revealed to be named Blue, you restore a vital source of information that becomes essential for understanding the scope of the Imperium threat.

With Blue functioning again and openly sharing her data, you and Drifter finally gain access to intelligence that clarifies the Imperium’s intentions and strengthens your strategy moving forward.

These events mark the true beginning of your campaign against the Imperium, preparing you and Drifter to coordinate your efforts and plan how to dismantle their growing influence.
