How To Get Unstable Cores & Its Uses in Destiny 2

With The Edge of Fate released, several changes have been made to the game, including a drop in the Power Level cap of Guardians.

Since the Power Level has been capped at 200, you will need to obtain a certain material known as Unstable Cores to go beyond it.

This material is now an important part of every season as it resets along with them, and you will need to grind them when starting fresh.

Unstable Cores Location

There is no specific location for Unstable Core farming, and instead, you mainly get these as rewards or from dismantling gear.

How To Get Unstable Cores?

1) Dismantling High-Power Gear

As you progress through the season and complete activities, you will eventually be able to upgrade your gear to the 200 Power Level cap.

Once you continue to get items that go beyond 200, these will provide you with Unstable Cores when they are dismantled. (This is considered the best way to get them)

2) Seasonal Hub Weekly Rank Rewards

Completing Portal activities will allow you to progress with your Seasonal Hub Weekly Rank, which will allow you to collect various rewards.

Among these rewards are Unstable Cores, and the higher your Weekly Rank is, the better the rewards will be.

3) Rewards Pass

The Reward Pass will allow you to collect certain rewards as your Seasonal Rank increases, and this also includes Unstable Cores.

Progressing with your Reward Pass will eventually provide you with a few sets of Unstable Cores that you can use later.

Unstable Cores Uses

Unstable Cores are automatically used when you consume gear during an infusion, which will allow you to upgrade gear past 200.

The amount of Unstable Cores that will be used depends on the Power Level of the gear, making it more costly as you reach higher levels.

You can view the number of Unstable Cores you have when you are about to dismantle for Infusion, which can be helpful when you are watching the amount that you have.

Verdict

Unstable Cores are considered difficult to farm for some Guardians, and this may be a lack of sources for you to get them.

However, these become more abundant as you continue to go beyond the Power Level cap and do activities that provide you with higher-level gear.

Farming Unstable Cores can easily be done as long as you continue to do activities, granting you more gear that can be dismantled, and you will eventually have a lot later.
