Destiny 2: How To Solve Each Mystery in The Edge of Fate

Kepler was introduced in The Edge of Fate, and Guardians get the chance to search for red chests or Kepler Ability Chests, which are spread throughout the Oort Cloud.

These chests are known as mysteries during this season, and finding them provides you with rewards and will allow you to eventually complete triumphs.

Each of these mysteries needs to be solved, and doing this is easier than it sounds, as you simply need to have unlocked a certain ability on Kepler.

What Are Mysteries on Kepler?

While exploring Kepler, you may see a notification saying that there is a mystery nearby, and this means that you are near an ability chest.

Once you have opened the ability chest, you will also be notified that a mystery has been solved, and these can be found in several areas.

Different areas on Kepler have ability chests, and opening all of them in a certain region is tied to a specific triumph.

How to Solve The Edge of Fate Mysteries?

To solve a mystery, all you need to do is open the chest, which will provide you with rewards and add to the count of chests you have opened in that region for its triumph.

To open these chests, though, you will have to have the required Kepler ability unlocked, and there will be a description for each one and a visual difference.

All Kepler Mystery Solutions

Once you have unlocked a Kepler ability, sometimes these will need to be used to solve certain puzzles that you find related to them.

Other chests will simply require that you have the ability unlocked, and upon opening the chest, the mystery will be solved.

The following are the different mysteries and the abilities needed for them:

  • Requires highly concentrated unknown energy – Matterspark
  • Requires knowledge of an unfamiliar language – Rosetta
  • Requires upgraded Fallen tech – Relocator
  • Requires undiscovered technology – Mattermorph

Sometimes, a chest will require an upgraded version of a Kepler Ability, and this makes it necessary to progress through the campaign and certain quests.

Mystery Rewards

Solving the mysteries by opening their chests will provide you with certain rewards, which mainly include Legendary Gear that was added in the season.

When it comes to weapons, you can expect those such as Giver’s Blessing and Ulterior Observation, while armor will often be from the Aion Renewal set.

The following are all the possible rewards from solving mysteries:

Weapons

  • Giver’s Blessing (Auto Rifle)
  • Agape (Hand Cannon)
  • Ulterior Observation (Machine Gun)
  • Last Thursday (Pulse Rifle)
  • Sublimation (Scout Rifle)
  • Precipial (Shotgun)

Armor

  • Aion Renewal Gauntlets
  • Aion Renewal Chest Armor
  • Aion Renewal Class Item
  • Aion Renewal Helmet
  • Aion Renewal Leg Armor

You can visit the Altar of Relativity to select an Attunement for a specific item, which will provide you with a better chance to get these items from chests and other sources.

Verdict

Solving mysteries can be a great way for you to get your hands on some rewards, especially if you are trying to get better rolls for a certain piece of armor or a weapon.

Mysteries can be reactivated at the Altar of Relativity, which costs you a certain Quantum Substance depending on the region that it will reset them in.

Since collecting mysteries can be done multiple times (after resetting them), you can eventually farm certain weapons or armors and even get better versions on higher difficulties.
