Destiny 2: Heliostat Exotic Mission Walkthrough

Heliostat is an Exotic Mission where Guardians infiltrate a forgotten Golden Age facility to stop the launch of a modified Warsat threatening timeline stability.

The Conductor, Maya Sundaresh, plans to launch this Warsat to prevent Red Legion incursions, risking catastrophic paradoxes that could permanently fracture reality itself.

With help from Psions allied with the Forces of the City, you must breach the facility and end the Conductor’s dangerous timeline experiment.

How To Get the Heliostat Mission?

As of October 7, 2025, the Heliostat Exotic Mission went live, becoming a new pinnacle-level activity connected to the ongoing post-Final Shape storyline.

Guardians can access the Heliostat mission from the Portal Activities tab under Pinnacle Ops, launching directly to begin their infiltration of the Golden Age facility.

Heliostat Mission Walkthrough

Enter The Warsat Facility

At the start of the mission, you begin outside the facility and must fight through several waves of enemies before reaching the main entrance.

A nearby device emits lethal radiation, triggering a short tutorial explaining how to summon your allied Psions by interacting with marked synchronization points.

These Psions project Radiation Shielding, allowing you to move safely through the irradiated zones and advance deeper into the Golden Age complex.

Continue making your way deeper into the facility by entering a small opening that will take you to Bunker War-6, where you will then summon a Quicksilver Psion.

With the Psion summoned, a Radiolaria Nexus will be nearby, and you will need to defeat it before standing in its field to begin Radiolarial Suffusion to gain Radiolarial Saturation.

This will allow you to assist the Quicksilver Psion to take out the barrier once you are fully charged, allowing you to interact with the barrier that the Psion has highlighted.

Access The Bunker

The next phase requires gaining entry to the underground bunker by locating and destroying four Security Nodes scattered throughout the outer facility.

The first node is exposed and can be destroyed immediately, while the remaining nodes are shielded, requiring the assistance of newly introduced Quicksilver Psions.

Defeat the enemies and eliminate the Radiolaria Nexus to generate a synchronization field, allowing you to summon Quicksilver Psions who disable the node barriers.

Continue defeating combatants until the Radiolaria Nexus reappears, allowing you to summon Psions and clear each blocked passage leading to the remaining Security Nodes.

After destroying all four Security Nodes, the main barrier will deactivate, granting you access to proceed deeper into the Golden Age facility.

Descend

Head to the next area, and you will be able to drop down a large entrance into an area filled with water below you, leaving you to search for a path to the next area.

Start by interacting with the nearby console to gain access, and afterward, you need to search for the right entrance to take. (Other paths are traps that electrocute you)

Going clockwise, take the fourth opening from the console, and this will allow you to proceed to the next area.

In this area, there will be doorways on each side, with all of them being traps except for one, which is the very last one above you on the left.

Jump off from each of the small platforms to reach it and make your way inside, where you will need to head to the other side and exit through another doorway at the end.

Once you make it through the other doorway, head straight for the one across the corridor and go inside, where there will be another one at the end.

Don’t go straight to the next one, but instead, turn to your left, and you will see more platforms past some pipes.

Jump the last platform and head to your right to go through the correct doors, but once you go through them, don’t go to the very last doorway.

Instead, take a left, and there will be a small opening to your left, which you can take to reach the next area.

This is also where you summon your first Hacking Psion, which will be needed for the next areas that you will traverse through.

Summon the Hacking Psion and interact with the console in the same room before you head outside and cross over to the other one.

The entrance to the other room is a small opening near one of the Warsats that you will need to crawl through.

Once you are on the other side, interact with the console in that room to begin the Partner Hacking process, which involves you and the Psion hacking at the same time.

The next large room will require that you and the Psion perform another Partner Hacking, which requires you to interact with the console on the right.

On the left is another console with three symbols that you must choose from to start hacking, but choosing the wrong one causes radiation to spill into the room.

During our runs, we noticed that the console on the left is the one that we needed to proceed to the next room. (It looks like an arrow pointing down)

A lift will make its way down, and you will need to proceed further into the area, but there will be electrical fields in the way.

Each electrical field can be temporarily disabled to allow you to pass, which requires you to shoot the devices along the way.

You will have to shoot each one in order, as they will only be vulnerable once the previous one has been destroyed. (Shoot them as you are sliding down)

Enter the Security Code

The next area will be large, and the first thing you need to do is jump all the way down and enter the large structure in front of you. (Fight your way past the combatants)

Once you are inside, summon the Hacking Psion, who will assist you in getting to the next area, which requires you to input Security Code Fragments.

The code fragments that need to be entered can be seen in the center and are colored red, which is the same pattern on each side.

Now that you know the pattern of the codes that you will need to input, head to each room to check where the codes are.

Once you find the first code on the other side, have your Psion hack the terminal in the room while you enter through a vent to reach the other side.

Defeat the enemies in the room and interact with the correct code to begin partner hacking, which will complete the first code fragment.

Repeat these steps with the other rooms, which will eventually allow you to input all Security Code Fragments to complete the whole Security Code.

Override the Gravlift

Once the Security Code is complete, head back to the large room and defeat all of the reinforcements and interact with the console.

This will activate the Warsat Elevators, which will allow you to ascend to make your way to the Gravlift Override Consoles.

Cross the gaps by jumping from platform to platform until you reach the end, which will allow you to travel across a long platform with the console at the end.

Take the portal to get back to where you started and work your way to the other side to find the second console.

Your next step will be to reach the Launch Site, which requires you to take one of the elevators in the area to the very top part of the facility to use the Gravlift to ascend.

In the next area, you will need to fight the other combatants before a boss named Valus Thuun arrives, whom you will need to defeat.

Taking a portion out of Valus Thuun’s health will cause him to become immune to damage, and to make him vulnerable, you will need to defeat a Warden. (Hydra)

Defeating the Warden will cause Valus Thuun to be vulnerable again, and this needs to be repeated until he is defeated.

Destroy the Satellite

Once Valus Thuun is defeated, interact with the marked area near the Satellite, and this will cause the Psions to appear in the area.

From this point, you will need to destroy the Satellite, which can be done by simply shooting it, which will expose Quicksilver Energy.

Interact with the energy to seal off the portal, which will result in the Heliostat Exotic Mission being complete.

Heliostat Exotic Mission Rewards

Completing the Heliostat Exotic Mission will reward you with several items, which include the following:

  • Glimmer
  • Enhancement Prism
  • Enhancement Core
  • Strange Coin
  • Combat Telemetry (During Arms Race Event)
  • Legendary Gear

One notable loot that you will get from completing Heliostat is the Wolfsbane, an Exotic Axe that was added on the same day as this mission’s release.

Verdict

Thanks to your efforts, Maya Sundaresh, also known as The Conductor, can no longer bring her Red Legionnaires into your timeline, ending her immediate threat.

While this victory is a significant step in halting her temporal manipulations, her lingering influence suggests she may still endanger the timeline in the future.

For now, the system remains safe, and the new Exotic Axe Wolfsbane stands as a fitting reward, being the first axe ever introduced in Destiny 2.
