Destiny 2 Rushdown (Unlock, Difficulties, Boss Rotation & Rewards)

Rushdown is an activity that is available in this year’s Guardian Games 2025 Event, which pits guardians against multiple bosses from your previous encounters.

These bosses are some of those that you have faced in either the main campaign, seasonal campaigns, and more from the past in Destiny 2.

During the Guardian Games 2025 Event, completing Rushdown is one of the best ways for you to get Medallions used to earn rewards during the event.

How To Unlock Rushdown?

Rushdown is unlocked at the start of the Guardian Games 2025 Event but you may want to complete the Best in Class quest to progress properly during the event.

The activity will be available from The Tower, which you can access from your Destinations Menu to choose between 3 difficulties.

Rushdown Mechanics

Once the Rushdown Activity starts, you will be placed in your first encounter against a boss and will need to defeat them within the time limit.

Defeating a boss will often require that you complete objectives, deplete their health, and so on, which is similar to how you would defeat them in their original instances.

After the boss has been defeated, you may then proceed to the banner and interact with it to start the next boss encounter.

Each time a boss is defeated, the difficulty of the activity will increase, which increases the difficulty of both combatants and the bosses.

This will need to be done until all 5 of the bosses for the activity have been defeated and after interacting with the banner, you will be brought to the reward area.

Interacting with the chest in this area will provide you with the rewards for completing the activity, ending it shortly.

Rushdown Difficulties

This activity features 3 difficulties, which include Rushdown Warm-Up, the standard Rushdown, and Rushdown Expert.

Rushdown (Standard) and Rushdown Expert will provide you with a more difficult activity and in these two modes, you will have a limited number of lives.

Those who want to practice and get used to the activity may resort to Rushdown Warm-Up and those who want better rewards may focus on the other two.

Taking on Rushdown Expert is necessary for players who wish to progress with the Shoot to Score quest that is obtained during the Guardian Games 2025 Event.

The Shoot to Score quest is obtained from Zavala at The Tower during the Best in Class quest from Eva Levante.

Rushdown Boss Rotation

Bosses that are encountered in the Rushdown activity will rotate daily, giving you a new set of enemies to face every day.

These bosses are selected at random and will need to be defeated in the same order for each run of the Rushdown activity.

Rushdown Rewards

Completing a run of the Rushdown Activity will often reward you with one of the Guardian Games Weapons and a Medallion.

Depending on the difficulty, you will obtain better rewards, whereas Expert Rushdown will always provide the best rewards among the three variations of the activity.

Rewards that are given will be based on your performance, which is affected by how quickly you defeat bosses and how many lives you have lost.

There are 4 reward levels, which are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, where Diamond can provide multiple weapons, including a Masterworked one.

Additional rewards may include materials such as Enhancement Prisms and even Ascendant Shards for Diamond.

Rushdown Revives

When playing the standard Rushdown activity and Expert Rushdown, Guardians will begin with 3 revives that are used when they are defeated and revived in any way.

If the whole team of Guardians has 0 revives remaining, they will need to restart from the last checkpoint reached in the game.

Running out of Rushdown Revives does not cause the activity to fail but will affect the score of the whole fireteam at the end of the activity.

Rushdown Time Limit

Guardians will have a limited amount of time to defeat each boss and if this timer runs out, the activity will fail but you will still be able to receive rewards.

The rewards you receive will depend on how many bosses you have defeated during the activity before the time runs out.

After defeating a boss, the time limit will be increased, which should allow you to defeat the next boss and the ones after.

Verdict

Rushdown is one of the fastest ways for you to obtain Guardian Games Weapons and obtain Medallions for depositing at the podium at The Tower during the event.

You can choose whether to play with the same class or to be put together with random classes in a fireteam when selecting the activity.

Rushdown will remain available until the end of the Guardian Games 2025 Event and may reappear later when the event happens in the next year.
