While exploring Augur’s Bethel, you stumble upon a locked room that seems to have some secrets hidden away, and this, of course, is worth exploring.
You will first need to find a way to get past the locked door, which involves destroying some energy cells that are scattered around the area.
Upon reaching the room, it is revealed that you are in a containment chamber or hazard zone, and whatever is inside is considered dangerous yet precious to the Aionians.
How To Get Dark Academia Quest?
Completing The Outer Steppes Strangelet quest will guarantee that Dark Academia will be unlocked, while others have mentioned that it is unlocked after completing the Morphology mission.
We went straight away and completed the quests in batches before checking, so this would be much safer to say, but you may want to progress with The Edge of Fate quest first.
This is because the quest will be locked until you have progressed to Quest Step 22 in The Edge of Fate quest, which will allow you to interact with the objects in the room.
How To Open Door To Dark Academia Quest?
To open the door that blocks the way to the Dark Academia quest, you will need to search for 3 energy cells (if that is even what they are called) and destroy them.
One can be found just as you head away from the door if you look below, and the other two are hidden behind objects that can be moved with Mattermorph.
Destroying all of the energy cells will cause the door to open up, allowing you to interact with the object inside to start this quest.
Dark Academia Quest Steps (Objectives)
Step 1: Scour the area for information
The quest begins once you interact with the first object, which appears to be a large ball but is later considered to be a sort of engine.
The next thing you will need to do is scan the area, which can be done once you move into the room, but this can only be done once you have reached Quest Step 22.
After scanning the area, head over to the nearby shrine (Monument To Failure) and interact with it to continue with the quest.
Step 2: Return the strange device you found to the Aionian encampment in the Caldera
While this quest step mentions that you need to return a device that you have found, you will need to interact with it to collect the “Aionian Device.”
Step 3: Deliver the artifact to Dean Rebecca
Now that you have the unstable artifact, make your way back to Dean Rebecca and speak with her to deliver what you have found.
You can easily complete this quest step by fast-traveling to Caldera and will be able to quickly meet up with Dean Rebecca. (Quest ends after speaking with her)
Dark Academia Quest Rewards
Upon the completion of Dark Academia, you will receive the following types of rewards similar to those of the other side quests that you have completed:
- Legendary Gear
- Fated Cipher
Verdict
It turns out that the device you were carrying was an unstable piece of technology, which is considered to be a kind of energy engine that was sealed away.
The Aionians believed that this device could be a catalyst that would help the Aionians connect with the Holy anomaly, but this was stopped some time ago.
Even though the device was unstable and considered dangerous, you were safely able to return it to Dean Rebecca, which resulted in her giving you a mark of honor for your efforts.
