After saving the progenitor ship of the Aionians, you return to the campus to find The Emeritus and Rebecca pleased with your efforts, but something is still troubling them.
It seems that the site of their graduation defense ritual has been overrun by the Vex, and this does not bode well for them due to the presence of a Gate Lord.
You will need to head over to this location and get rid of them, and while doing this, you will also be able to find the Strangelet Capsule that you have been searching for.
How To Get Commencement Mission?
The “Commencement” mission is part of the last quest step for The Central Academy Strangelet quest and allows you to complete it.
You may begin this mission by heading over to the Mission Starter, which you can easily find if you are tracking the quest.
Commencement Mission Walkthrough
Upon the start of the mission, you will be in the Aionian Campus and will need to start making your way to the laboratory, and this requires you to destroy the devices locking the door.
This device will be right next to the door, and after it has been destroyed, you may approach the nearby console and interact with it to open the door.
You will eventually reach a room that has lasers above, and there will be certain spots that you can jump up to to reach a path leading to the next area. (Matterspark part included)
In the next area, you will find a Cyclops that is marked by a waypoint, and your objective now will be to defeat it along with the other combatants in the area.
After defeating the Cyclops, make your way to the terminal nearby and interact with it to locate the location of the Gate Lord.
There will be a small entrance nearby, and you may enter it by utilizing the Matterspark ability to reach the next area.
The next area will have devices that are protected by Vex Cubes, and you will need to destroy the cubes before taking them out.
There will be two devices protected by Vex Cubes, and both of these are connected to the door that you need to get through.
Shoot the Vex Cubes as well as the devices that they protect, and a nearby door can be accessed by interacting with a terminal.
Continue making your way through the path, and you will find a Vex object at the end that requires charging, which can be done by attacking it after activating Matterspark.
Head to the next room and you will encounter a Linchpin Hydra that needs to be defeated, but after taking out a portion of its health, it will become immune to damage.
Take out the Uplifted Choral Minotaur in the area and destroy the Vex Cubes along with the devices that they are protecting to make the Hydra vulnerable again.
Once the Hydra has been defeated, collect your rewards from a nearby chest and continue making your way to the Ritual Site. (A terminal nearby needs to be interacted with to open a door.)
You will find a chest, and after opening it, look up, and there will be a path you can take that will eventually allow you to follow the waypoint to the Ritual Site.
Upon reaching the Ritual Site, you will need to destroy the Oracle, but to do this, you need to use your Matterspark ability to attack the nearby Vex objects.
Head to each of the Vex objects while you are in Matterspark form and attack them, and this will make the Oracle vulnerable. (Attack it once you have done this)
Destroy the Oracle, and you will be able to proceed to the next area, and this is when Maya Sundaresh begins to manifest in a way.
Continue making your way to the marked area and place down a rally banner before heading to what appears to be a large gate.
Once you reach the gate, a boss called Phydron, Gate Lord, will appear, and you will need to begin fighting it until a portion of its health is reduced.
This will cause an Oracle to appear and more Vex objects that protect it, which requires you to use Matterspark to damage the objects to make the Oracle vulnerable.
After destroying the Oracle, the Gate Lord will become vulnerable again, and you will need to repeat this until you have defeated it.
Collect your rewards and the Strangelet Capsule to end the mission.
Commencement Mission Rewards
During this mission, you will be able to obtain various materials and gear from enemies as well as the chests that you encounter.
By the end of the mission, you will also obtain the Strangelet Capsule that is required to progress with The Edge of Fate quest.
Additionally, this completes The Central Academy Strangelet Quest.
Verdict
Maya Sunderash has been up to no good, and it looks like the Vex that she has taken control of have started the invasion in the area.
Luckily, not much of her presence was in the area, and you were able to defeat the Gate Lord before things got out of hand.
With another Strangelet Capsule now in your hands, you can head back to the Altar of Relativity and see if things go well.
