After the previous events that occurred in A Rising Chorus Act 1, the story continues with the second act, and this continues after the briefing from Ikora Rey.
More secrets need to be unraveled following the Wake of the Echo, which first appeared after crashing on Nessus.
A new foe named the Conductor is on the loose and you will need to discover the truth behind them and what their intentions are.
How To Get A Rising Chorus: Act 2 Quest?
After the completion of A Rising Chorus: Act 1, Guardians had to wait for the release of the second act, which came out on July 16.
Upon logging in, you will be able to start with the Echoes Act 2: A Distant Reply quest, which may be completed to unlock A Rising Chorus Act 2.
A Rising Chorus: Act 2 Quest Steps
Step 1: Complete Battleground: Delve on Nessus
Starting this quest will lead you to participate in the new Battleground: Delve activity on Nessus, where you will need to fight your way through the Vex.

Step 2: Use your Radiolite Sampler to extract Vex Code mutations from Radiolite Incubators within the Episode
This quest step requires that you interact with Radiolite Incubators found within the Battleground Echoes activities or Breach Executable activities.
You will need to extract material from the Radiolite Incubators, which will grant you Vex Code Mutations, which you will need to bring to Failsafe.

Step 3: Return to the H.E.L.M. to activate Failsafe’s upgraded protocol
After obtaining the Vex Code Mutations, you will need to bring these back to Failsafe aboard the H.E.L.M. and interact with her to activate her upgrade protocol.

Step 4: Speak with the newly upgraded Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
Once Failsafe has been upgraded, you will need to check up on her, which can be done by speaking to her in the H.E.L.M. after you have activated her upgrade protocol.

Step 5: Speak with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. to unlock a new research bay
Speak with Failsafe once more and she will give you the Specimen ID: NES004 quest, which also activates the Hydra Tail Research Bay.

Step 6: Complete Battleground: Conduit on Nessus
Failsafe requires that you fight against enemy forces within the planetoid’s crust, which can be done in the Battleground: Conduit activity.

Saint-14 has left you a message, which can be accessed by interacting with Failsafe aboard the H.E.L.M.
The message from Saint-14 has him speaking of how the Conductor has made him continuously think about what they have said about him, which seems to make him question his existence.

Failsafe is processing the data you have gathered in an attempt to locate the mysterious Conductor and she will contact you when she has a new theory.
Week 2 Quest Steps
Step 9: Failsafe, newly briefed on the Echo of Command, wishes to speak to you in the H.E.L.M.
Failsafe would like to speak with you after being introduced to the Echo of Command, which compels AI such as Failsafe to follow orders.
Aside from informing you about her briefing, Failsafe will tell you about her plan that requires your help, which involves mixing nanomachines in Radiolaria to track Vex movements.

Step 10: Harvest Radiolite to gather the materials Failsafe Requires
Failsafe will need materials to create the nanomachines and make preparations, which requires you to excavate Radiolite.
You will need to do activities such as Breach Executables and Battleground: Echoes to collect Radiolite as you complete them.

Step 11: Bring your collected materials to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M
Now that you have obtained the materials that Failsafe needs, you will need to head back to her at the H.E.L.M. and hand them over.

Step 12: Deploy the nanobots at the specified coordinates
Failsafe has created the nanobots that need to be placed in certain locations within the Chamber of Stone on Nessus.
You can launch this part of the quest to fast-travel to Artifact’s Edge and continue making your way to the Chamber of Stone to interact with each of the locations.

Step 13: Deploy the nanobots at the specified coordinates (Again)
Another set of nanobots needs to be deployed and this time it will be in the radiolarian spring within The Conflux Lost Sector on Nessus.
Fast traveling to The Cistern can quickly get you near The Conflux Lost Sector and you can either do this from the Destinations Menu or launch this while viewing the quest.

Step 14: Complete Battleground: Core on Nessus
Enemy forces are trying to control the flow of the radiolaria flow on Nessus, which you need to put a stop to, or else this can interrupt Failsafe’s research.
You will need to complete the Battleground: Core activity, which can be launched through the quest or via the H.E.L.M. destination.

Step 15: Study the nanobots’ progress with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
Another set of nanobots needs to be deployed and this time it will be in the radiolarian spring within The Conflux Lost Sector on Nessus.

Failsafe thinks that there is a new research specimen that may be found in the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus and needs your help scanning the location.
You will need to go to Watcher’s Grave and interact with the location to scan it, which will reveal where the new specimen can be found.

Failsafe’s plan did not work out as she expected but she insists that a new research specimen is within the area.
Continue searching and make your way to the next marked location to perform a scan and check out anything that you find in the area.

Step 18: Collect the research specimen
It appears that a specimen was indeed present and the reason Failsafe had difficulty finding it was that it was a biological life form.
A frog appears to be sitting on top of the body of a fallen Vex combatant, which you will need to interact with to collect.

Step 19: Take the research specimen to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. for analysis
Failsafe thinks that there is a new research specimen that may be found in the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus and needs your help scanning the location.
You will need to go to Watcher’s Grave and interact with the location to scan it, which will reveal where the new specimen can be found.

Step 20: Deliver the research specimen to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.
Once you arrive at the H.E.L.M., you will need to head over to Failsafe and speak with her to hand over the specimen.

To further know more details regarding Failsafe’s new theory, you will need to speak Ikora Rey as they have figured out what needs to be done.

Step 22: END OF WEEK 2
Ikora Rey has told you about Failsafe’s theory which involves obtaining crucial data about the Vex but this can only be obtained from a deceased Saint-14 who lies in the Infinite Forest.
The data that you have gathered is still being processed to help locate the Conductor and you will be contacted by Failsafe when the next steps are planned out.
Week 3 Quest Steps
Step 23: Meet Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. to discuss her theory of how to locate the Conductor
Failsafe is waiting for you at the H.E.L.M. and you will need to speak to her about what needs to be done next involving Saint-14.

Step 24: Explore the Sunken Cavern on Nessus and defeat the Vex who holds the code Failsafe requires
An access code is needed before you can reach the simulation where the Vex is holding Saint-14’s body and you will need to get it.
This requires that you head to the Sunken Cavern and defeat a Compelled Minotaur to obtain the Vex Simulation Access Code.

Step 25: A message awaits you in the H.E.L.M.
Now that you have the access code, it is time to head back to Failsafe but you will also encounter Osiris and Saint-14, who have a heart-to-heart discussion.
Osiris is not happy with the whole plan and what lies ahead but Saint-14 has made up his mind and will push through with what needs to be done.

Step 26: Enter the Vex network with Saint-14 in Mission: Shell on Nessus
Now that Saint-14 is ready, you will need to begin Mission: Shell on Nessus, which puts you up against tough Vex enemies as you fight your way to Saint-14’s tomb.

Step 27: Speak to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar
Saint-14 has reached a point of revelation and after the successful mission that you took part in, he would like to speak with you.

Step 28: END OF ACT II
Saint-14 is back to his good old self and Osiris is happy that things didn’t turn into a disaster but it has been revealed that The Conductor is Maya Sundaresh.
Maya Sundaresh is known to be a Golden-Age scientist who was trapped in the Vex network and now appears to be commanding her variations of them.
You will need to wait until Act III for Failsafe to contact you as more will need to be done or else Maya will use the Echo to convert everything into her Vex minions.
A Rising Chorus: Act 2 Quest Rewards
During the events of A Rising Chorus, you will be able to obtain equipment as loot throughout the various activities that are needed to be done as well as for completing quest steps.
Upgrades and research equipment will also be unlocked as you proceed with the quest each week to provide you with more bonuses throughout The Final Shape.

Summary
The Conductor poses a huge threat and replaces The Witness in some manner but more needs to be discovered before this being may be confronted.
Failsafe must obtain all the data she needs to provide the Vanguard with answers that they are searching for.
Depending on what results are found, the mystery behind the Conductor and the Echo will soon be revealed to the Vanguard.
