Shaolong (Location, Drops, Uses, Partner Skill & Work Suitability): Palworld

Some Pals are built to become stronger alongside a specific type of party, and Shaolong is a powerful Dragon/Water Pal that rewards players who surround it with other Dragons.

Its combination of high offensive potential and fast flying speed makes it useful for both combat and long-distance exploration, while its Water attacks give it another element to work with.

Shaolong also has an impressive role at your base, where its exceptional Watering ability makes it one of the most capable Pals for handling water-based production.

Shaolong Location

Shaolong can be found around the World Tree, with Alluvion Lakefront serving as the main area to search for this Dragon/Water Pal.

The Pal can appear during both day and night, so you can hunt for Shaolong whenever you are exploring the area.

Shaolong Spawn Locations include::

  • -1599, 1462
  • -1621, 1427
  • -1631, 1378

Partner Skill

Azure Sovereign

Shaolong’s Partner Skill is called Azure Sovereign, which allows it to be ridden as a flying mount once you have crafted its required saddle.

While Shaolong is in your party, its Attack increases by 4% for each other Dragon Pal in your party, giving it a direct damage boost when surrounded by Dragon-type companions.

Unlike some Partner Skills that specifically exclude the Pal providing the effect, Azure Sovereign does not exclude Shaolong, meaning multiple Shaolongs can benefit from it.

The bonus increases with Partner Skill upgrades, reaching 8% per Dragon Pal at the highest level, making a Dragon-heavy party particularly effective for maximizing Shaolong’s Attack.

Shaolong Uses

Shaolong works extremely well as a combat mount, with its 2,800 ride sprint speed allowing you to cover large areas quickly while carrying a strong selection of Dragon and Water attacks.

Its Azure Sovereign Partner Skill gives you another reason to build around Dragon Pals, increasing Shaolong’s Attack for every other Dragon in your party.

You can also lean into either of its elements when setting up its active skills, giving you the option to build around Water damage, Dragon damage, or a combination of both.

When left at your base, Shaolong becomes an exceptional Watering worker with Level 8 Watering, while Level 5 Gathering lets it handle plantation harvesting and other gathering tasks.

Shaolong Exclusive Skills

1) Hydra Charge

Hydra Charge is one of Shaolong’s exclusive skills, covering its body in water before charging straight toward the enemy.

The Water attack has 500 Power, giving Shaolong a powerful close-range option that also applies Soak to enemies.

2) Azure Dracoflare

Azure Dracoflare is Shaolong’s Dragon-exclusive skill, allowing it to breathe Dragon-elemental flames in a sweeping attack that scorches the surrounding area.

With 600 Power, this gives Shaolong a devastating Dragon attack for dealing heavy damage across multiple targets.

3) Celestial Vortex

Celestial Vortex summons a massive Water vortex that reaches toward the heavens and pulls surrounding enemies into it.

The attack has 700 Power, making it one of Shaolong’s strongest skills and an excellent choice when you want to hit multiple enemies at once.

Verdict

Shaolong is an excellent flying mount for late-game exploration, combining fast travel with the ability to deal both Dragon and Water damage in combat.

Azure Sovereign makes it even more dangerous in Dragon-focused parties, giving its Attack a significant boost for every other Dragon you bring along.

Its exceptional Watering and Gathering also make it worth keeping at your base, giving Shaolong plenty of value whether you use it for combat, exploration, or production.
