Palworld Coal Mine (How to Unlock, Build Site & Uses)

Coal is one of the materials in Palworld that you will want to get your hands on to craft certain items that you will need while you progress.

The thing is, finding areas with a ton of Coal Nodes as well as farming them can be tedious from time to time, which makes a Coal Mine the number one solution.

Unlocking and building a Coal Mine is a great way to gain an unlimited supply of Coal but progression is needed before you can do this.

How To Unlock and Build Coal Mine Site?

The Coal Mine can be unlocked once you have reached Level 41 and have defeated Axel and Orserk, the boss of the Tower of the Brothers of the Eternal Pyre.

With the boss defeated and being at least Level 41, you may unlock the Coal Mine at the cost of 5 Ancient Technology points.

Once unlocked, the Coal Mine may be built using the following materials:

  • 70 Stone
  • 100 Coal
  • 30 Paldium Fragment

Coal Mine Site Uses

Much like the Ore Mining Site, the Coal Mine is a structure where Pals may work to collect from an unlimited supply to provide you with Coal over time.

The only Pals that can be assigned to a Coal Mine are those who have at least Level 3 Mining as this is a requirement to mine Coal.

The more Pals that are working at a Coal Mine, the faster the production of the material and this eventually gets you a good stock going.

You can place a chest or other type of storage near a Coal Mine and this will allow Pals with the Handling Work Skill to transport Coal to it.

You can assign Pals to work at a Coal Mine so that they focus on the task of mining or simply have Pals in your base and they will automatically work there if they can.

Verdict

While the Coal Mine allows you to produce an endless supply of Coal at a rate depending on the Mining Work Skill of Pals, you will need Coal before you can build it.

Earlier ways to obtain Coal involve searching areas for Coal Nodes and once you farm at least 100, you can head back to your base to build a Coal Mine.

Upgrading the Mining Skills of your Pals via the Pal Labor Research Laboratory will also affect their ability to mine Coal from a Coal Mine that is in your base.
