Palworld: How to Get Dumud Helm

The Dumud Helm takes the idea of wearing a Pal-themed hat much further by essentially putting a tiny, wobbly Dumud over your character’s head.

Its mouth opens around the position of your character’s face, while the top fin and tail stick out from the rest of the hat and move as you walk around.

It is ridiculously cute in motion, but the helm also has actual defensive bonuses and Earth Damage Reduction when you wear it normally.

Where To Get Dumud Helm?

The Medal Merchant sells the Dumud Helm for 25 Dog Coins, making it one of the cheaper Pal-themed headgear options available from this vendor.

Medal Merchants can be found around abandoned churches and church ruins, with several locations scattered across Palworld for players to visit.

Once you find the merchant, exchange 25 Dog Coins for the Dumud Helm and you can immediately add it to your equipment collection.

Dumud Helm Effects

The Dumud Helm provides basic protection alongside an Earth-focused defensive effect, giving the item some practical value beyond its animated appearance.

Its Earth Damage Reduction makes it particularly suited to situations where you want additional protection against Ground-based attacks.

  • 20 Defense
  • 60 Health
  • 300 Durability
  • Earth Damage Reduction Lv. 1 (15%)

Dumud Helm Uses

The Dumud Helm is especially fun for messing around in your base or while travelling, since the whole Pal moves with your character instead of behaving like a rigid piece of headgear.

Its animated details make it a great choice for screenshots and casual outfits, particularly if you want your character to look intentionally ridiculous without giving up the option to use it as real equipment.

You can also keep the helm for its appearance and transfer the Dumud look through the Antique Dresser, which is useful if you have a stronger headpiece you would rather keep equipped.

How To Equip Dumud Helm?

For its own bonuses, simply place the Dumud Helm into your Head Armor Slot from the inventory and the item’s effects will apply immediately.

There is nothing to activate manually, allowing you to wear the little Dumud around while its defensive properties remain active in the background.

If you are using the Antique Dresser instead, keep the Dumud Helm stored at your base and select its appearance when customizing compatible headgear.

Verdict

The Dumud Helm is one of those cosmetic pieces that becomes considerably better once you actually see it moving around on your character.

Having Dumud’s mouth open around your face while its fin and tail wobble as you move gives the item a level of charm that a static Pal hat simply would not have.

It is worth grabbing for the novelty alone, and the fact that it also provides useful protection makes the 25 Dog Coin cost feel even easier to justify.
