How to Unlock & Craft Makeshift Weapons in Palworld

As you explore the different islands in Palworld, you will face challenges along the way as there will be both Pals and Humans that you need to fight.

During your earlier adventures, obtaining guns to use against your enemies can be a huge upgrade from a bow and crossbow and this is where Makeshift Weapons come in.

Makeshift Weapons are some of the earliest guns that you can get and are cheaper to craft and you may want to get a few of them before progressing to more difficult areas.

How To Unlock Makeshift Weapons?

Makeshift Weapons can be unlocked by reaching certain levels, which will allow you to unlock the Makeshift Handgun, SMG, Shotgun, and Assault Rifle by reaching Levels 24, 26, 30, and 31.

Once you reach the required level for these Makeshift Weapons, you will be able to unlock them from your Technology Menu at the cost of Technology Points.

Where To Craft Makeshift Weapons?

Makeshift Weapons can be crafted at a Weapon Workbench or any better crafting station designed to make weapons and ammunition. (Such as Weapon Assembly Line I and II)

Crafting Makeshift Weapons at a Weapon Assembly Line I or II will allow multiple Pals to work on the weapons or ammunition that you are crafting.

These weapons will cost specific materials depending on which one you intend on crafting, which includes Ingots, High Quality Pal Oil, and Fiber.

Best Makeshift Weapons

Based on the magazine capacity, damage, and fire rate of the Makeshift Weapons, it would be ideal to have the Makeshift Assault Rifle and the Makeshift Handgun.

While the other Makeshift Weapons have their uses, the Makeshift Assault Rifle is useful for any range while the Makeshift Handgun can be useful for high damage and ammo conservation.

Using the Makeshift Assault Rifle is great when it comes to medium to long-range attacks while the Makeshift Handgun can easily deal tons of damage if you score headshots.

Verdict

Each Makeshift Weapon can be useful in certain situations, and this also depends on your playstyle, which is something to consider since you will need better ways to damage your targets.

All Makeshift Weapons require the same type of materials as only the amounts vary, making it easy to farm materials to craft a few or even all of them.

Unlike with other weapons, all Makeshift Weapons use the same type of ammunition (Coarse Ammo) and this is easy to craft even during the earlier parts of the game.
