Choosing the right location for a base has always been an important decision in Palworld, especially for players who want unique layouts or safer areas.
For a long time, building a fully functional base in the middle of the ocean or other bodies of water was something many players wanted to do.
Thanks to the v1.0 update and the Aquatic Construction Kit, players can now create complete water bases with Pal Boxes and other structures without needing traditional land.
How To Get Aquatic Construction Kit?
The Aquatic Construction Kit is a Key Item that allows you to build base structures directly on water and can be unlocked at Level 66 through the required progression.
Crafting it requires 200 Cement, 50 Corallum Ingots, and 100 High Quality Wooden Boards before you can begin creating water bases.

How To Place Structures on Water?
Building on water works similarly to building on land, but you will first need a stable surface for your structures to stand on.
Start by placing foundations across the water, creating the platform where your base buildings can be constructed.
Once you have a foundation ready, place a Pal Box to officially establish the area as a base and prevent structure decay.
After the Pal Box has been placed, the location will function like any other base, including allowing fast travel to and from the area.
From there, you can continue expanding your water base by placing crafting stations, storage, housing, and other structures normally.
Benefits of Building Water Bases
Building a base on water gives you much more freedom when choosing a location since you are no longer limited by terrain or available land space.
The open ocean provides plenty of room for creative layouts while also keeping your base naturally protected from many threats, including enemy raids.
Water bases can also create unique designs that stand out compared to traditional land-based locations.
However, water bases do come with some limitations since certain structures require actual land or resource nodes to function.
For example, Crude Oil Extractors and High Pressure Crude Oil Extractors cannot be placed without the required oil nodes and suitable terrain.
Verdict
The Aquatic Construction Kit completely changes how players can approach base building by allowing fully functional bases to be created across oceans and other bodies of water.
While water bases are not ideal for every situation due to certain structure limitations, they provide unmatched freedom for creative designs and unique locations.
If you want a safer, more spacious, or simply more impressive base location, building on water is a fun option worth trying in Palworld.
