Auri & Shaolong are the eighth Tower Boss you can challenge in Palworld, waiting at the Azure Covenant Tower after you finally break through Sunreach’s barrier.
This fight puts you against Shaolong, a massive Dragon and Water Pal capable of mixing powerful elemental attacks with several dangerous attacks that can cover a large part of the arena.
Unlike some earlier towers, this battle also has a few mechanics worth preparing for, especially the flooding attack that can make staying on the ground much harder.
Auri & Shaolong Location
Auri & Shaolong can be challenged at the Azure Covenant Tower on the Sunreach Islands, located around -423, -1425.
The tower becomes accessible after completing the Hope Springs Eternal objective and shutting down the six barrier power sources blocking the route.
Since Sunreach is a late game area with high level enemies, reaching the tower can already be a challenge if your character and Pals are not properly prepared.
Fighting Auri & Shaolong
Auri & Shaolong are a Dragon and Water boss, making Electric and Ice attacks the best choices for dealing increased damage.
Shaolong uses attacks such as Hydra Charge, Geyser Gush, Hydro Slicer, Curtain Splash, Dragon Meteor, and Azure Dracoflare, giving it both close range and ranged options.
One particularly important attack floods the arena with water, leaving you with much less safe ground and making a flying Pal extremely useful during this part of the fight.
Frostallion is an excellent choice because it provides Ice damage while also allowing you to remain airborne, while strong Electric Pals such as Orserk can take advantage of Shaolong’s weakness.
Shaolong’s charge attacks are also fairly well telegraphed, so watching its movement and dodging before the attack connects can prevent some of its heavier damage.
Auri & Shaolong Rewards
Defeating Auri & Shaolong for the first time rewards you with 5 Ancient Technology Points along with a large amount of Character and Pal EXP.
You will also obtain the Key Sphere of Original Sin, a Legendary Key Item associated with Auri & Shaolong and the Sunreach progression.
If you later take on the Hard Mode version, Auri & Shaolong can also drop the Legendary Beam Launcher Schematic.
Verdict
Auri & Shaolong make you approach the fight differently from the earlier towers, especially once the arena starts filling with water and your normal positioning becomes much harder to maintain.
Bring strong Electric or Ice attackers, keep your distance when possible, and take advantage of flying Pals when Shaolong turns the arena into a watery mess.
Once the duo falls, you get the Key Sphere of Original Sin and another 5 Ancient Technology Points, bringing you one step closer to the final challenges waiting beyond Sunreach.
