Diablo 4: Lord Zir (Location, Summon, Loot & Fighting)

Lord Zir is an Initiate Lair Boss that players will encounter as they begin progressing through Diablo 4’s endgame and working through the Lair Boss ladder.

He remains a recurring endgame target that offers valuable Unique Items and rewards tied to his specific loot pool.

Defeating Lord Zir allows you to open his Hoard with a Lair Key, making him an important step in early boss progression and farming.

Lord Zir Location (The Darkened Way – Ancient’s Seat)

Lord Zir can be found in the Ancient’s Seat, which can now be directly accessed via fast travel without needing to go through The Darkened Way.

This makes reaching the boss arena significantly faster, allowing you to head straight into the dungeon from the map.

Once inside, proceed to the Bloodied Altar where Lord Zir can be summoned.

Summoning and Defeating Lord Zir

Lord Zir is summoned at the Bloodied Altar within the Ancient’s Seat, where he appears shortly before the fight begins and allows a brief moment to prepare.

During the encounter, he uses fast blood-infused melee slashes, projectile attacks, and persistent ground effects that can quickly overwhelm unprepared players.

He also summons minions throughout the fight, which add pressure and should be cleared when possible to maintain control of the arena.

As the fight continues, Lord Zir becomes more aggressive with mobility-based attacks and heavier area pressure that forces constant repositioning.

Avoid standing in blood pools, manage adds carefully, and maintain consistent damage until Lord Zir is defeated and his Hoard appears.

How To Open Lord Zir Hoard Chest?

After defeating Lord Zir, his Hoard will appear in the Ancient’s Seat and can be opened to claim rewards from his loot table.

Opening the Hoard requires 1 Lair Key, which is consumed upon use and applies to all Initiate Lair Boss Hoards.

Verdict

Lord Zir is a slower but dangerous Initiate Lair Boss, where most of his threat comes from sudden burst damage and heavy area attacks rather than constant pressure.

While his patterns are generally readable, mistakes can be punishing if you get caught in blood pools or overlap damage while minions are active.

Good movement, proper spacing, and efficient target clearing will make the fight much easier and allow you to handle him consistently once you learn his rhythm.
