Pets have become a useful feature in Diablo 4 as they make it more convenient to grind through each season by picking things up for you.
Back then, there were only a few pets to choose from but as each season passed, more and more were introduced.
One of these pets is Iris, a cat-like creature that features several eyes, which gives it something in common with the boss you face in Season 8.
Iris Pet Release
Iris was added to the game with the release of Season 8: Belial’s Return, which became available on April 29, 2025.
This pet became available as soon as the new season launched and was already shown as one of the rewards that could be obtained.
How To Get Iris The Cat?
Iris is obtained as a reward for completing the Champion Chapter in the Season Journey and is claimed for completing all 5 of the objectives.
Once the objectives have been completed, you may claim Iris from the season journey Champion Chapter rewards.
Challenges To Complete
The challenges for the Slayer chapter are mainly tied to being in the Torment III difficulty, which may require you to progress and strengthen your character.

Iris Uses
Once you have Iris, you can equip this adorable yet strange feline pet to accompany you as you travel throughout Sanctuary.
Just like with the other pets that you have, Iris will pick up certain items such as materials, seasonal collectibles, and more.
This makes it easy to farm Spectral Ash in Season 8, Aberrant Cinder and Baneful Hearts in the Helltide, crafting materials, and more that drop.
Verdict
One of the best things about Iris is that you can get this pet cat for free if you progress throughout the season and there is a lot of time to do this.
Equipping Iris will have this pet function just like any other, with the only change being its appearance.
Once you have obtained Iris, you will be able to use this pet throughout the season as well as during any other season and even with characters from the Eternal Realm.
