Diablo 4 Hooves of the Mountain God (How To Get, Affixes, Effects, Uses & Boss Drops)

Barbarians destroy their enemies with brute force, and whether it’s their Basic Attacks or Core Skills, a lot of damage can be dealt.

Some players find it fun to focus on both Basic Attacks and Core Skills, while others invest a lot in Basic Attacks based on their builds.

For those who enjoy Berserking and unleashing rapid strikes against their enemies, the Hooves of the Mountain God are a great choice for their Unique Boots.

Hooves of the Mountain God Affixes

Hooves of the Mountain God causes a Barbarian’s attacks to reduce their evade cooldown while also increasing their Movement Speed, Basic Attack Speed, Fury Per Second, and more.

  • Attacks Reduce Evades Cooldown by 2.5 Seconds (Inherent)
  • +17.5-23% Movement Speed
  • +16-25% Basic Attack Speed
  • +5-10 Fury Per Second
  • +2-3 Ranks to Belligerence

Hooves of the Mountain God Effects

When the Hooves of the Mountain Gods are equipped, reaching Maximum Fury will cause your Fury to rapidly drain while your Basic Skills are boosted.

This causes your Basic Skills to gain [70-100]% increased damage, and each attack will now cleave, damaging multiple enemies at a time.

While you are in this state, it becomes much easier to take out groups of enemies while you utilize your Basic Skills, including any additional effects they apply.

Hooves of the Mountain God Uses

These Unique Boots provide those with Basic Skill Barbarian builds, such as Lunging Strike Builds or Flay Builds with an AOE attack.

Thanks to the additional damage, you can easily take out enemies quicker while also applying effects from the Basic Skills.

Additionally, the additional Fury per Second provides you with a quick way to reach Maximum Fury to utilize this effect often.

With the additional ranks added to Belligerence, Barbarian’s Basic Attacks will deal even more damage, and this further increases the damage output of your build.

How To Get Hooves of the Mountain God?

On higher difficulties, the Hooves of the Mountain God may drop from certain enemies as they are Unique Boots, but there are certain Lair Bosses that have them in their loot table.

Opening the Hoards of the following Lair Bosses has a good chance to drop Hooves of the Mountain God:

  • The Beast in The Ice (Glacial Fissure)
  • Urivar (Fields of Judgement)

Verdict

Plunging head-on into a fight with Basic Skills with a Barbarian has been a disadvantage in the past, since you often would only target one enemy at a time.

With the Hooves of the Mountain God, your Basic Attacks can now deal a large amount of damage and hit multiple enemies in an area where you attack.

Now Barbarians can spam their Basic Attacks to easily clear out groups of enemies, making this a huge opportunity for new builds that focus on Basic Skills.
