Arioc’s Needle may look like an unassuming spearhead, but the venom sealed within it was supposedly taken from the fang of a long-extinct giant spider.
The returning Diablo 2 weapon arrives in Diablo 4 as a Legacy Unique Polearm, bringing the Deadly Strike mechanic along with it.

It can drop from activities that reward Unique equipment, including Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, Kurast Undercity, and other endgame content.
Waking Nightmares are another option, as defeating Prime Evils provides opportunities to obtain the Legacy Uniques introduced in Season 15.
The Horadric Cube can also provide another route by using the Upgrade to Unique recipe with a Common Polearm.
Arioc’s Needle Effects
Arioc’s Needle introduces Deadly Strike, a separate damage mechanic that can cause an attack to deal increased damage when it activates.
The weapon grants 50% Deadly Strike Chance, while successful Deadly Strikes deal 70–100% increased damage.
Critical Strikes cannot also become Deadly Strikes, making the two mechanics separate ways for an attack to deal additional damage.
Arioc’s Needle Affixes
Arioc’s Needle has two fixed properties along with two randomized properties, so individual drops can still have considerably different stats.
The following properties are fixed to Arioc’s Needle:
- Attack Speed – +10–16%
- Lucky Hit: Poisoning Damage – Up to a 40% chance to deal 2,200–5,400 Poisoning Damage over 10 seconds
- 2 Random Properties – Determined when the weapon drops.
Greater Affixes and item upgrades can increase these values, so particularly strong copies may display numbers above their normal ranges.
Best Classes and Builds for Arioc’s Needle
Arioc’s Needle can be equipped by Barbarians, Druids, and Spiritborn, giving all three classes access to Deadly Strike.
Fast-hitting builds can make good use of the weapon, especially when they can consistently generate attacks that have a chance to Deadly Strike.
Whirlwind Barbarian and several Spiritborn builds are potential options, but the weapon still needs to compete with other powerful Two-Handed choices.
How to Make the Most of Arioc’s Needle?
Deadly Strike provides its own damage opportunity, so builds do not need to depend entirely on Critical Strikes to produce stronger hits.
The fixed Attack Speed affix also helps generate attacks more quickly, giving the weapon a natural offensive combination.
Look for a high 70–100% Deadly Strike Damage roll when comparing copies, along with useful randomized properties for your build.
Tips for Farming Arioc’s Needle
Keep Common Polearms if you intend to use the Horadric Cube, as they can provide additional attempts through the Upgrade to Unique recipe.
Waking Nightmares are useful when hunting Legacy Uniques, while other endgame activities provide more opportunities for Arioc’s Needle to drop naturally.
Continue farming after your first drop if its Deadly Strike Damage is low or its randomized properties do not benefit your build.
