The path to the Foundering Caverns is no longer blocked by the Drowned, but the entrance will not be easily reached like it used to.
While the area is now clear, you will still need to make your way to the caverns, and this is one journey you will have to make on your own.
Tharra is waiting for you nearby, and with her help and what the Amazons have prepared, you will finally be able to get your hands on the second piece of the blade.
How To Get Breaking The Storm Quest?
Breaking the Storm becomes available after the completion of The Hateborn Sea quest, which previously had you fighting your way through the Drowned.
This allowed you to create a path to what would be your only way to reach the Foundering Caverns, and now it is time to seek out the last piece of the blade within them.
Breaking The Storm Walkthrough
Tharra will be waiting for you in Myssena, and you will need to head to her location and speak with her before she leads you to a ballista.
After she leads you to the ballista and explains that it is the only way to reach the caverns, you may fire it and traverse the rope to reach the other side.
Continue following the path by interacting with each of the movement zones, which eventually leads you to the entrance of the Foundering Caverns.
Explore the Foundering Caverns until you reach the Hands of Akarat and speak to the one who is marked by a waypoint, which results in them being sacrificed to summon a large creature.
The Behemoth of Atanos will appear, attacking you immediately, and you will need to defeat this large boss, who later drops the Edge of Lilith’s Blade.
Grab the Edge of Lilith’s Blade, and this will complete the quest, where you now have 2 out of 3 pieces of the blade needed to banish Mephisto.
Breaking The Storm Quest Rewards
After defeating the Behemoth of Atanos and grabbing the Edge of Lilith’s Blade, the quest will be complete, and a new one called Glint of Light will begin.
In addition to the next quest being unlocked, you also receive:
- XP
- Gold
During the quest, you pick up the second piece of the blade, which puts you one step closer to restoring it, and this eventually will allow you to face Mephisto later on.
Verdict
After fighting through the dangerous caverns and defeating the monstrous Behemoth of Atanos, the second piece of the blade is finally recovered from deep within the ruins.
With two fragments now in your possession, the path ahead becomes clearer as the hunt for the final piece slowly draws closer to its conclusion.
The time to face Mephisto is approaching, and the battles ahead will only grow more dangerous as the remaining forces standing in your way prepare for what comes next.
