Blightshade may appear as a beautiful plant but it is classified as a toxic swamp lily, which has certain aggressive qualities that make it useful for Alchemy.
You are bound to find this herb later on after you have progressed in the game or if you have decided to venture off into higher-level areas.
Similar to other materials, Blightshade exists within its region, which is Hawezar and it is often obtainable from its natural plants.
About Blightshade
Blightshade is an herb that is favored for its qualities which are mentioned to be foul and aggressive, which is why Alchemists tend to use it.
While this herb has dangerous properties, it seems to have Shadow qualities and may be even used to enhance one’s precision if crafted into an elixir.
How To Get Blightshade?
Blightshade may be obtained in Hawezar, which is around the southeast part of Sanctuary as this is the only location where it grows.
You may obtain Blightshade however by participating in that provide chests and can even loot some from time to time. (Drops from Herb Caches also)
Another way to get Blightshade is to craft it, which can be done at an Alchemist and will cost 5 Gallowvine per 1 Blightshade.
Blightshade Uses
Since Blightshade is obtained from a region that you are expected to reach in the later parts of the game, it is used for several endgame recipes.
This includes the Greater Healing Potions (Level 70), Major Healing Potion (Level 80), and the Superior Healing Potion (Level 90) which all required this material and others.
Besides being used for upgrading the potency of your Healing Potions, Blightshade is also required for crafting the following elixirs and incense:

Verdict
Blightshade is not as abundant as other materials at the beginning of the game but you can still get a good amount of them as you progress to Hawezar.
You will often get this if you participate in events of the game as it tends to drop along with other resources, giving you a good chance to get them.
One of the best ways to get your hands on them is to explore Hawezar and complete events and side quests so you stumble upon the herb while you are busy.
