Diablo 4 Aspect of Delayed Extinction (How To Get & Effects)

Barbarians have access to a unique set of skills that can become useful depending on what build you are going for and some of these are Steel Grasp and Mighty Throw.

While these skills on their own are useful in their ways, you can boost the damage that these abilities do to further enhance your damage output.

Thanks to the Aspect of Delayed Extinction that was introduced in Season 8: Belial’s Return, you can now enhance their damage based on your Cooldown Reduction.

Aspect of Delayed Extinction Effects

Once you equip an item that has been imbued with the Aspect of Delayed Extinction, both Mighty Throw and Steel Grasp will gain multiplicative damage.

The damage will be applied instead of cooldown from your Cooldown Reduction, which increases the damage by [125% – 250%] for both skills.

This provides you with more damage, especially since Mighty Throw ends up unleashing pulses and Steel Grasp may have multiple charges.

Aspect of Delayed Extinction Acquisition

After the Aspect of Delayed Extinction was added in Season 8, it can now be obtained by salvaging a Legendary or better item that has the Aspect imbued.

Salvaging an item such as a Serrated Axe of Delayed Extinction (Legendary Axe) would result in the Aspect being unlocked in your Codex.

Tips

Builds that utilize both Steel Grasp and Mighty Throw will benefit greatly from Aspect of Delayed Extinction since it applies a damage bonus to both skills.

Since the damage bonus is based on your character’s Cooldown Reduction, equipment that increases this stat will provide you with more damage.

Using both skills is not necessary as certain builds may require a different set of skills but the bonus damage provided by this Aspect can still be a useful bonus.

Verdict

Having Mighty Throw is a great way to deal damage from afar before jumping into a fight and the additional attack speed is a huge help for Barbarian.

Steel Grasp is great for pulling enemies toward you and since it already has a passive upgrade that increases its damage, this Aspect gives it even more damage.

The Aspect of Delayed Extinction is perfect for adding more damage to your builds, especially if you often use Steel Grasp and/or Mighty Throw in a fight.
