Diablo 4 A Feather on the Scale Quest Walkthrough (Season 6)

Within The Mercenary Den, you discover a Mercenary Helm that was crafted by Raheir and a Muddy Letter at its base.

Reading the letter reveals that someone is waiting for Raheir at the Toxic Fens, and you will need to bring this up with your ally.

Since Raheir won’t be able to make it to meet up with the person who wrote the letter, you will be going in his place, and this later unlocks a new mercenary named Subo that you can hire.

A Feather on the Scale Quest Walkthrough

Once the quest begins, you will need to head to Raheir in The Den to ask him about the helmet that you found, which is revealed to have been made by Raheir for Subo.

Raheir will ask you to go in his place as he was supposed to meet up with the Bounty Hunter in Hawezar to assist him on a mission. (Raheir sends you due to his arm being cut off)

Fast travel to Hawezar (Backwater is a good place to start) and make your way towards the area marked on your map. (Toxic Fens)

Subo will be around the northern part of the marked area and once you find him, you will need to speak with him to continue.

You will need to enter the Smuggler’s Bunker nearby to help Subo with his “task” which involves a bandit that he has recently captured.

Head into the Smuggler’s Bunker and make your way to the end where Subo will be waiting for you and speak with him.

Subo will instruct you to keep the bandits that are coming occupied until he is done interrogating the bandit that he has captured.

You will need to slay all the bandits that arrive while Subo continues to torture the bandit that he captured until he eventually gets what he needs.

Once Subo is done with the bandit, he executes him, and you will need to speak with Subo to find out what will happen next.

Subo tells you to meet him at the Windswept Altar but still has not explained what it is that he is trying to do.

The location of the Windswept Altar will be marked on your map and may be reached by traveling to the east from the Smuggler’s Bunker.

Speak to Subo once you arrive and he will tell you to go in the front, which makes your next objective head into the Windswept Altar.

Once you reach the end of the Windswept Altar, you will find the bandits attempting to make a sacrifice and will need to interact with the large one.

Subo surprises and kills the bandits and frees the prisoner but the blood that has been spilled summons Avashtha, Malformed Serpent. (You will need to kill this monster)

Once the Malformed Serpent has been killed, exit the Windswept Altar and speak to Subo to complete the quest.

A Feather on the Scale Rewards

Completing A Feather on The Scale will reward you with XP, Gold, and Murmuring Obols along with 3 Rare Items and 1 Legendary Item.

Additionally, this will also unlock the option to hire Subo (Bounty Hunter) at The Den and reward you with a Challenge labeled Hire Subo.

Subo will also mention that you may keep the helm that Raheir made since he never needed it, and this will appear as a random Mercenary Helm (Legendary) in your inventory.

Verdict

Subo’s intentions were a bit questionable at first as you would expect most Bounty Hunters to capture or even kill their targets to get the job done.

It turns out that Subo was on a rescue mission and the prisoner was lucky that you arrived in time before they were sacrificed.

Not only did you save the prisoner, but you have also slain the creature summoned during the ritual and now have a new mercenary to watch your back.
