Upon returning to Micah-10, she tells you about another Lost Ghost named Akasha, who has been systematically scanning the Awoken territory for years.
Micah has discovered a lock on Akasha’s beacon, and it points to the Dreaming City as she searches for her Guardian.
It is now up to you to head to the Dreaming City where you will begin your search for this Lost Ghost and bring her back to the Arbor of Light.
How To Get The Ascendant Quest?
The Ascendant is one of the quests that are unlocked later after you have completed other quests that involve finding Lost Ghosts.
This quest may be obtained from Micah’s Conduit in the Last City (within the Pale Heart) after you have completed The Hellmouth quest.
The Ascendant Quest Steps
Step 1: Search for Ghost telemetry in mission “Dark Monastery” in the Dreaming City
Micah’s beacon shows that she is somewhere in the Dark Monastery, and you will need to start this mission and locate the Ghost telemetry found in it.
You will be able to find the Ghost telemetry once you enter the portal that opens right after fighting the boss (Val Belyx, Gauntlet of Incaru) and it will be near a giant face.

Step 2: Search the Dreaming City for signs of Akasha
Now that you have a fix on Akasha’s location, make your way to the Divalian Mists and continue until you reach the Spine of Keres.
Head below before you cross the first bridge, and you will find a cave that you may enter that leads you to The Conflux.
Travel through The Conflux until you reach the very end, and you will be able to find Akasha lying on the ground.

Step 3: Return to the Arbor of Light in the Pale Heart to restore the lost Ghost
After you have found Akasha, make your way back to the Arbor of Light where you will now restore the Lost Ghost.

Now that Akasha has been restored, speak with Micah-10 via her conduit and the quest will be complete.

The Ascendant Rewards
Completing The Ascendant will reward you with a First Ascent Class Item for your Guardian, which will often come at a higher power level.
This is part of the First Ascent Armor Set, which is tied with the other pieces of armor that are also rewarded from quests from Micah-10.

The data that was retrieved by Akasha appears to be troubling as they show Hive activity across the Ascendant Plane.
