The release of Episode: Heresy brought a new Exotic Trace Rifle called Lodestar into the game, which has become quite popular as a main weapon for many Guardians.
Featuring an unlimited ammo pool and a large magazine to unleash upon your enemies, this Arc Trace Rifle can annihilate groups of enemies in seconds.
What makes this weapon a masterpiece is that it is a combination of both a Trace Rifle and a Pulse Rifle, thanks to its firing modes. (Firing from the hip and aiming down the sites)
How To Get Lodestar?
The Lodestar is obtainable from the Season Rewards for Guardians who have either progressed with their Seasonal Rank or those who have purchased the Season Pass.
Guardians who have purchased Episode: Heresy will be able to collect Lodestar from their Seasonal Rewards at Rank 1, while those without the pass may obtain it at Rank 40.
Additionally, you may reacquire the Lodestar Exotic Trace Rifle from your Collections found in Inventory, which will cost 3,000 Glimmer and 2 Enhancement Cores.
Lodestar Weapon Perks
1) Fluted Barrel (Barrel)
The Lodestar has an ultra-light barrel.
- Greatly increases handling speed
- Slightly increases stability
2) Phase Converter (Battery)
When aiming down the sights, the Lodestar’s beam is compressed into short, high-energy bursts that interact with targets affected by Arc debuffs.
This causes the Lodestar to deal increased damage and causes enemies to detonate into a blinding explosion when final blows are dealt.
3) Arc Alignment (Trait)
Dealing Arc damage from any source aligns the battery’s coils, which allows you to disengage the weapon’s safety by holding the (Reload Key) once the alignment is complete.
Disengaging the weapon’s safety enables a hip-fired Starlight Beam to be fired, which applies Jolt to any targets that are damaged for a short time.
Aiming down the sights will slow the rate at which the battery is drained.
4) Composite Stock (Stock)
This Exotic Trace Rifle has a versatile dual-purpose stock.

The Lodestar fires a low-intensity Arc beam with enhanced stability and accuracy, making it easier to hit your targets at almost any range.
Guardians can make use of both firing the weapon from the hip for continuous damage or aiming down the sights for bursts of damage, which are both affected when you disengage the weapon’s safety.

The Lodestar can be a great weapon to bring into different missions, especially since it provides you with continuous Arc Damage with an unlimited number of reloads.
Since there are often several Artifact Perks that focus on Arc Damage, you may use this as an advantage to buff the Lodestar during certain seasons/episodes.
