Hand Cannons are one of the strongest weapon types in Destiny 2 as they have good accuracy and damage, and the Graviton Spike has an extra bit of flavor to it.
This Exotic Hand cannon features the ability to cause not one but two different elemental effects along with its high damage output.
Capable of alternating between Arc and Static firing modes, you can easily defeat enemies due to its high damage, plus the effects that you can trigger.
“Learning a new language isn’t easy.”
How To Get Graviton Spike?
Graviton Spike is a reward that you obtain after the completion of “Graviton Through The Ages” Exotic Quest, which becomes available after completing The Edge of Fate campaign.
This quest leads you to search for the different pieces of the weapon and later assemble it by completing a run of The Sieve on Kepler.
Obtaining additional copies of this weapon can be done by shaping it at the Relic in the Enclave on Mars.

Graviton Spike Intrinsic Traits
Temporal Manipulation
You may press the “Reload” key/button to swap between fast-firing Arc mode or slow-firing Stasis mode, which causes final blows and precision hits to overcharge the opposing mode.
This will allow the weapon to make use of the additional effects caused by the Temporal Anomaly trait to further create chaos for your enemies.
Graviton Spike Catalyst
The Graviton Spike has four Catalyst Perks for you to choose from, which can be obtained in higher World Tiers, and these are the following:
- Rapid Hit and Subsistence can be found in World Tier Fabled
- Transcendent Zen & Temporal Alignment can be found in World Tier Mythic
Rapid Hit
Rapid precision hits temporarily increase stability and reload speed.
Subsistence Refit
Defeating targets partially reloads the magazine from reserves.
Transcendent Zen Refit
Final blows grant bonus stats based on the weapon’s damage type alignment.
- Light elements grant stability and handling
- Dark elements grant range and aim assist
- While Transcendent, this weapon gains both bonuses
Temporal Alignment
Overcharging both Arc and Stasis modes grants a period of increased damage.
Verdict
Guardians can choose between which firing mode they prefer, and this can also help align the Exotic Hand Cannon to your elemental subclass.
Those who tend to use the Prismatic Subclass can make use of Transcendence to make use of both of the effects from Transcendent Zen Refit for better weapon stats.
Depending on your build, altering Graviton Spike can allow you to make use of certain Artifact Perks as well as the other bonuses that your character has.
