The Disciple of Harrow serves as the final boss in the Fire and Ice mission, requiring careful strategy and focus to defeat within the Praxic Temple.
Defeating this boss grants access to the Praxic Blade, an Exotic Sword that pays homage to a lightsaber, rewarding Guardians with a powerful and stylish weapon.
This encounter can feel tricky or frustrating, especially if you struggled with the prior mission puzzle, leaving you unprepared for the timing and mechanics of the fight.
Where To Find Disciple of Harrow?
The Disciple of Harrow appears after you have obtained the Balanced Octant and have used it to get to the opposite side of the Praxic Temple.
This is shown when you use the Balanced Octant, and the whole place becomes inverted into a darker version of what it previously was.
As you proceed through the area, you eventually wind up coming face-to-face with the Disciple of Harrow and must deal with him before continuing.
How To Defeat Disciple of Harrow?
Once the fight begins, you will need to damage the Disciple of Harrow using your weapons and abilities while also fighting off the combatants that fight alongside it.
Aiming for his head will result in you dealing Precision Damage, which is a good way to conserve special ammo and quickly damage his health.
After taking out his first health bar, the Disciple of Harrow will escape to the side of the arena that you are fighting in.
A barrier will appear that prevents you from firing at him from afar, and you will need to enter this barrier and damage him here.
It is also possible to destroy the barrier by shooting the generator that unleashes a beam going upward, which spawns the barrier.
Upon taking out the second health bar, the Disciple of Harrow will once again move to another part of the arena, and another barrier appears.
Repeat the same steps of entering the barrier and attacking the Disciple of Harrow, but be careful, as the other combatants can be quite a threat.
Once the Disciple of Harrow is down to its last health bar, it will become immune to damage, and you will need to interact with the device on top of the platforms.
Clearing out combatants as you make your way to them may be necessary to avoid taking too much damage, and you will also have to evade attacks from the boss.
There will be two blights in the area with rings, which need to be enlarged, like how this was done in a previous puzzle during the mission.
You will need to defeat Cleaved Taken Centurions and throw the Opposite Energy that can be picked up at the blights, which will cause them to grow.
Each of the blights with rings must be ground to their maximum size, and after this is done, the Disciple of Harrow may be damaged again.
Once the Disciple of Harrow is defeated, you will be teleported into the Praxic Vault, which is where you may obtain the Praxic Tool, also known as the Praxic Blade.
The Fire and Ice mission will end after you have taken the Praxic Blade and have fought your way through more combatants.
Disciple of Harrow Rewards
Defeating the Disciple of Harrow eventually leads to you getting your hand on the Praxic Blade, an Exotic Sword, and there will also be a rewards chest that appears.
The rewards chest acts as a reward for defeating the boss and nearly completing the mission, providing you with Renegades loot, which is often Legendary Equipment.
Verdict
Defeating the Disciple of Harrow is a major milestone in the Fire and Ice mission, testing both your combat skills and puzzle-solving abilities.
Securing the Praxic Blade from the Praxic Vault gives you a versatile and powerful weapon, capable of turning the tides of battle against formidable enemies.
With the boss defeated and rewards claimed, you are now better equipped for the challenges ahead, ready to continue your journey through the Renegades questline.
