Destiny 2 Captive Memories Mission Walkthrough

Captive Memories is a mission that is part of the Episode Revenant Act II Grave Robber quest, which takes you to the Prison of Elders.

Mithrax senses that Fikrul is after a long-dead weapon, which may be used to further his plans, and this must be prevented.

You will need to find Fikrul within the Tomb of Elders before he finds the weapon and prevents the Scorn from recovering what they are searching for.

How To Get Captive Memories Mission?

Captive Memories becomes available once you have reached quest step 9 of the Act II – Grave Robber quest and may be started from the quest or The Last City map.

This mission is only available during the quest and will disappear after you have completed it, allowing you to progress with the quest afterward.

Captive Memories Walkthrough

Captive Memories is like the Prison of Elders activity and upon starting, you will need to head to the marked area and clear out a room of enemies.

This group of enemies will include the Enlightened Omen and defeating the other combatants first will make it easier to single it out.

After you have defeated all of the enemies in the room, you will need to progress by completing a puzzle to escape the lockup.

Each of the doors inside the room will have symbols near them and if you go to the center of the room, you will find different symbols arranged in a specific order.

You will need to interact with each of the consoles near the doors in the exact order that the symbols appear to unlock the path forward.

Check the symbols at the center and once you start interacting with each console in the correct order, a notification will appear claiming that the hymn resonates throughout the chamber.

Once you have solved the puzzle, make your way to the next room and there will be a Revenant Baron that you need to defeat to proceed.

The Revenant Baron will be shielded, and you will need to defeat the High Revenants (3 in total) before the shield disappears.

Once all High Revenants are defeated, you may attack the Revenant Baron and destroy its Revenant Totem to get rid of it for good.

Head to the next area by following the waypoint, which will have you fighting your way through multiple enemies, including a Harbinger of the Witness.

Defeat the Harbinger of witness to remove a nearby barrier and continue making your way to the marked area by following the waypoint.

You will find Fikrul in the next room, but he will already have found the weapon that he has been looking for and upon approaching, a cutscene begins. (The cutscene is about Skolas the Rabid)

After the cutscene, you will be fighting Skolas, Scorned Wolf and he will have two health bars that need to be depleted before he is defeated.

During the fight, Skolas may deploy Defusing Splinter Mines, which you need to defuse by standing in the marked areas. (You will also have to fight multiple combatants)

Once you have reduced Skolas’ health to half, he will become immune to damage and to make him vulnerable, you will need to defeat the High Revenants. (3 in total)

After the High Revenants are taken care of, you may continue attacking Skolas until you defeat him, but the fight doesn’t stop here.

Upon defeating Skolas, Fikrul will appear and the Echo that he carries will resurrect Skolas before the two disappear. (The mission ends here)

Captive Memories Rewards

Completing Captive Memories rewards you with a Volatile Nugget and will also allow you to progress to quest step 10 of the Act II – Grave Robber quest.

Verdict

It appears that Mithrax was right about Fikrul searching for a weapon, which turned out to be Skolas the Rabid (Skolas, Scorned Wolf) and you failed to stop him.

Even after Skolas was revived, you were able to defeat him, but the Echo seems to deem Skolas worthy and resurrected him instantly.

You have escaped the Prison of Elders and have learned about what Fikrul now has, which leads to your next step to speak to Eido to see what she knows.
