Radiant Gems are rare materials found throughout the World Tree and are used as part of Pal Awakening, one of the game’s major endgame progression systems.
Each gem belongs to one of Palworld’s nine elements, meaning the type you collect depends on the Awakening Crystal you plan to craft for your Pal.
The gems are not used directly on Pals; they are combined with World Tree Holy Water to create Awakening Crystals that permanently improve compatible Pals.
How To Get Radiant Gems?

The available sources vary between gem types, with some being easier to collect than others depending on the Pals that provide them.

What Are Radiant Gems Used For?
Radiant Gems are crafting materials used to create Awakening Crystals, rather than something that can be applied directly to a Pal.
Each Awakening Crystal requires 50 Radiant Gems of its matching element along with 10 World Tree Holy Water to complete the recipe.
Once crafted, the crystal can be used on a compatible Pal to permanently increase its Health, Attack, and Defense while giving it the distinctive golden Awakening aura.
How To Craft Awakening Crystals?
Awakening Crystals are crafted at the Ancient Workbench after unlocking the corresponding Technology recipe for the element you need.
Every elemental version follows the same material requirements, using 50 matching Radiant Gems and 10 World Tree Holy Water.
For example, crafting a Fire Awakening Crystal requires 50 Fire Radiant Gems and 10 World Tree Holy Water before it can be used on a compatible Fire Pal.
Best Way To Farm Radiant Gems
There is no single farming route that works equally well for every type of Radiant Gem available in the World Tree.
The best approach depends on the element you need and which Pals currently provide that gem, making it important to identify your target before starting a farming run.
When direct Pal drops are limited or affected by current bugs, Expeditions, fishing, treasure chests, and the Ancient Relic Recycler can help supplement your supply.
Other Ways To Get Radiant Gems
World Tree Expeditions can provide Radiant Gems as rewards, letting you build your supply while your Pals are away handling other expedition tasks.
Fishing throughout the World Tree can also produce Radiant Gems, giving you another way to collect them while working on other fishing rewards.
Treasure chests found throughout the World Tree can contain Radiant Gems as well, making them worth opening whenever you come across them during exploration.
The Ancient Relic Recycler can also produce Radiant Gems when processing Ancient Relics, although the rewards are random and you cannot select the element.
Radiant Gems and World Tree Holy Water
Radiant Gems are only one part of the materials needed to create an Awakening Crystal, with another World Tree resource required alongside them.
World Tree Holy Water is the other required material, with 10 bottles needed for every crystal regardless of its element.
Since both materials are required for the same crystal, it is worth collecting Holy Water alongside your Radiant Gems instead of leaving the second half of the grind until later.
When Should You Use Radiant Gems?
Awakening is a permanent investment, so your Radiant Gems are best saved for Pals you already know you want to keep using throughout the endgame.
There is little reason to spend 50 gems on a Pal you are still planning to replace, especially when collecting another full set can take considerable time.
Finish developing the Pal you want to keep first, then start collecting its required gems once you are confident it deserves the Awakening.
